Picos Tour Day 7.
Todays mileage - 147.
Total so far - 817
Today we have ridden from Llanes to Tineo. The weather has been great, between 22 and 27c, but with some welcome cloud cover here and there.
The day started with low rear tyre pressure, only a few psi down, but thought I'd sort it. No drama....well, that was until my inflator wouldn't inflate, and instead ended up letting about 15psi out of the tyre! No drama, I knew there was a service station about 8 miles up the road. Arrived at said services, located the free air line, pumped tyre up to 42, and off we went. No dramas....until the TFT alerted me that I had 58psi in the rear tyre! Gauge must have been in bar not psi! 🤦 We stopped, I let some air out, but not enough! Only down to about 54psi. Stop, let more air out, set off again....48psi! Ffs!! Stop, let more air out, and settle on 44psi. Still slightly high, but it'll do.
And finally we were on our way. Much of todays route has followed the Pilgrims Trail which goes to Santiago de Compostella (which is our destination tomorrow). Along the way we visited 2 historic churches which date back to the 8th Century, and have importance related to the trail. No dramas, well, that was until we had some sat nav errors....well, it was actually user errors! Lol. We had a road closure, so had to carry on. The sat nav popped up with 'off route' and asked if I wanted to 'recalculate route' or not. I always press 'no', and then zoom out whilst I find an alternative route to put us back on the 'pink line'. Unfortunately I pressed the 'recalculate' option by mistake! It promptly recalculated us, but skipped some way points in the process! After a few miles I realised what had happened and we back tracked about 6 miles to get us where we wanted to be. No dramas....well, that was until we reached Tineo. Our hotel is right in the middle of the town, but the middle of the town was cordoned off for street parties galore! We had to park up, walk to the hotel and find an alternative route. My initial intention was to just ride through anyway, but a stern look from a gun totting policeman changed my mind! Fortunately, I found an alternative route, out and back in again. No dramas....well, that was until we wanted to eat! Everywhere was rammed, the hotel was even packed with some sort of party, but luckily we found an excellent place off the main street, that had great reviews and served delicious food. Excellent end to the day.
Here's a few photos from today.
