Just received this text from customer Malc.

'Hi Ian, hope you're well. Just thought I would share some great news, I passed my RoSPA advanced test this morning. I got a silver, not quite a gold, but feedback said I just need to improve slightly on my planning to overtake, but all in all, a great result. Thank you for the great teaching'.

IAM Masters Mentoring today with Debbie on her Yamaha 600.
It was Debbie's 3rd of 4 sessions as she prepares for her Masters test. With the predicted forecast, we weren't sure if the session would go ahead, but after a damp start, the sun came out and we had a really good ride, with more progress made (pardon the pun!).
Only down side, bike cleaning afterwards! Grrrr......

Had a fab night lastnight with many of my fellow Tutors from Advanced Riders North Yorkshire. We met up for a meal, and to celebrate an outstanding job by Steve P who has been the ARNY Chairman for over a decade.

Steve stood down as Chairman earlier in the year but is thankfully staying on as an invaluable member of the Tutor team.

Steve was with ARNY from the outset of the group and has steered its growth from about 20 members, to approaching 150 today. Over that time, it is estimated that Steve has volunteered more than 2000 hours of his time and trained over 200 riders! Steve has, without doubt, made a significant contribution to local riders skills, safety and enjoyment.

We wanted to recognise Steve’s years as Chairman with a memento as a mark of the appreciation for a job extremely well done.

Training today with Rob on his lovely Honda 900 Fireblade. Rob is back to biking after a substantial break, so decided to have a refresher day and is looking to now complete the DVSA approved Enhanced Rider Scheme.
Robs bike brought back some great memories, as I had an identical bike 'back in the day', and even went to Switzerland on it.
Rob will be back again next month.

Managed to get me face into MCN again. The photo is from our September tour to Switzerland and Monaco (and various places in between).
We were on Furka pass in the Swiss Alps and stopped at the famous 'James Bond hotel (Hotel Belvédère). It was a fantastic day. Many thanks to Lee for the digital image👍

Cracking few hours today, Tutoring with Advanced Riders North Yorkshire. 9 Associates paired up with 8 Tutors for our weekly training. As usual, the team at Strawberry Fields cafe looked after everyone 👍. I was paired up with Jez on his CFMOTO 1000. The main goal for the session was use of brakes and gears, using the 'brakes to slow, gears to go' mantra, and smoothing out transitions between positions. We finished off with a final debrief in the Autumn sunshine.

Training today with Zoe on her Z400. Zoe passed her test earlier this year and wanted to improve her skills as soon as possible. She contacted me, we discussed options and decided to go down the DVSA accredited Enhanced Rider Scheme route. Today was Zoes 2nd session. In her 1st, she quickly understood the theory and was soon putting it into practice. Today was no different, and I'm pleased to say she successfully passed all the 7 core elements. A great result for a new, young rider. 👏 👍

Congratulations to Richard, who contacted me this evening to let me know that earlier today he took his RoSPA advanced test, and not only did he pass successfully, he got a Gold, the highest grade available! Fantastic result 👏👍.
