Keinton stretch unbeaten run to six league games! 💪
It was a tough day for football with stormy weather and strong winds making life difficult, but Keinton dug deep to earn a well-deserved win on the road.
The opening minutes were about adjusting to the conditions, before Keinton started to find their flow. Toby Graham unlocked the defence with a perfectly weighted pass for Shaun Avery, who took it in his stride and calmly finished to make it 1–0.
Stoke looked to respond and had a few half-chances, but Keinton stayed organised and struck again from a set piece. From a free kick 25 yards out, Kier Conneely whipped in a dangerous ball to the back post. Paul “Stomps” Pentney’s header was saved, but Sam Reid reacted quickest to slot home the rebound for 2–0.
The second half was all about defending against the wind. Stoke pushed hard, but Keinton stood firm — with Stomps even clearing one off the line. James Graham hit the bar, and both Navid Rahimi and Reid went close late on, but the visitors managed the game superbly to see it out.
A brilliant all-round performance in tough conditions — sixteen out of eighteen points on the board, and plenty of momentum going forward.
Man of the Match: Paul “Stomps” Pentney – solid at the back, a threat up front, and leading by example once again.
