Another successful CALPAC Get Fishing Event at the Stew Pond on Epsom Common.

And more importantly, another eighteen participants added to the growing list of newcomers, to the wonderful sport of fishing.

It really is very rewarding seeing the reaction of the participants, when they hook their first ever fish.

An unusual capture from our Padworth fishery on the river Kennet. This 7lb Bream ended day 2 of our experiment, to assess the health of the fish stock in our three fisheries.
All three days involved trotting maggots with a stick float. This ensured all variables would be the same for each fishery.
Day one at Sulhamstead produced: Roach, Dace, and Chublets.
Day two at Padworth produced: Roach, Dace, Perch, Bream, Gudgeon, and Brown Trout.
Day three at Bulls Lock produced: Roach, Chublets, Bleak, Perch, and Dace.
Sulhamstead and Bulls Lock were both crammed with silver fish throughout their entire length. Padworth, the fish were in the deeper water from the road bridge, for approximately 75m.
This is a sure sign the Hatchery is having an impact on the stock density. The river is also showing signs of natural recruitment, which is excellent news.
If anyone fancies a days trotting for silver fish, I can highly recommend any of the above fisheries.

For those of you searching for excellent Chub fishing. Try the CALPAC river Mole fishery in Cobham.
These photos were taken this morning, after I had cut all the swims in the downstream section.
This fishery is also available on a day ticket, which must be bought in advance via our website.
Just for the record, there are some nice Barbel lurking around too!

Snargate fishery in Kent cut and ready in time for the 16th June.

EA w**d cutting doesn't start on the Romney Marsh until the 15th of July. Our fishery doesn't normally get done until sometime in August.

So if you're thinking of targeting early season Tench, make sure you take a rake. It should only take you about twenty minutes to create a clear patch for fishing.

Welcome to the new look Yalding Two fishery.
There is now a pathway all round the fishery, with three starting options near to the gate.
The river Beult now offers our members seven excellent swims with good access. The river Medway offers our members eight excellent swims with good access.
For those members with a night permit for this fishery, the Carp and Barbel fishing should be a much better experience this season.
And all done in time for opening day on the 16th!

Padworth fishery on the river Kennet prepared today for the 16th of June.
A big thank you to Mick and Steve for braving the damp weather, and helping me to make sure our members have the pleasure of fishing the most stunning stretch of river between Newbury and Reading.
To prove the river is recovering from the recent fallow period - the ranunculus growth has reached 70% of it's maximum spread throughout the fishery.
Without this, there are no invertebrates, and subsequently, no fish. 🤞with the continual stocking of fish from the Kennet Hatchery, the river will soon return to the glory days.

This is the first swim you come to when you arrive at the Stew Pond on Epsom Common.
Today, we transported it back to how it looked 25 years ago. Unbelievably, it only took five of us 3 1/2 hours to complete. It will now be used on various dates during the summer, for our Get Fishing Events.
A massive thank you to Mick, Steve, Trevor, and David for all their help this morning.
