ur life balance
Improve your relationships
Feel confident and in control
Stop being manipulated

I support you in understanding who you are to you to change how you are. Empowering you to create the life you want by learning the emotional intelligence skills you don't have now. School doesn't teach us emotional intelligence or how to manage relationships and avoid emotional abuse. You live your life as you learned as a child. You respond to situations as you did then, to stay safe but not adjusting your behaviours now you are an adult. I'm a Highly Sensitive Person who has experienced emotional abuse for most of my life, believing I wasn't good enough, pretty enough, clever enough, not anything enough to be loved. Learning who I was literally saved my life and I can support you in saving yours. Saving you from living with disappointment, rejection, doubt and that endless mind chatter. What makes my approach different? I want you to learn it and be able to do it for yourself. Most behavioural therapy deals with changing the behaviour. My approach is to change the motivation, like uprooting the tree rather than trimming its branches. To plant new seeds that grow into a balanced, powerful, peaceful life full of joy, satisfaction and love. What’s so special about behaviour? By the age of 7 you had created behaviours that kept you safe in your surroundings so you could grow into an independent adult. Your natural ability to feel and know what you like and don’t like enabled you to identify and create behaviours that gave you what you wanted, what you needed. You have known behaviours e.g. if you feel thirsty you drink, it prevents you becoming dehydrated and dying, if you feel hungry you eat, that prevents you from starving. You also have what I call ‘cloaked’ behaviours that are not obvious and may have been created before you could speak so may be difficult for you to identify. You may have become the entertainer, the carer, the joker, the peacekeeper, the organiser in your family as a way of getting attention and love or as a way of avoiding emotional abuse and anger. As you may not be aware of creating these cloaked behaviours as a child, you may not be aware of how they are affecting you every day. You're no longer a child and these behaviours may no longer be serving you well. As you grow, the power you have in your life changes, you may need to adjust your behaviours to suit your situation now. Who are the people I support? People like you who want more freedom, more happiness, more time, more joy, more love, a good life balance and more you in your life. Do you want to stop feeling stuck, overwhelmed, manipulated? To stop over thinking and repeating the same situations. Do you want to move forward and feel free? How do I support you? Together we explore what is happening for you and how you respond to situations, your choices, your behaviour and the consequences. What are the alternatives? How would they work for you? It’s all about you and what you want. By rediscovering and reconnecting with the way you feel and you react physically, you will identify a better way to live your life. Only you know how you feel and you will develop the skills to create the life and the outcomes that you want

What do I offer my clients? A safe, confidential space where you are supported, without judgement, as we unravel the spaghetti in your head. You'll understand what motivates your behaviours and decide if or how you want to change them. i provide you with practical tools and exercises to develop your awareness of yourself and improve your life balance and relationships; especially the relationship with yourself. Who doesn’t it work for? If you do not want to change
If you want other people to control you/ your life
If you enjoy being in emotional pain
If you do not want the best life you can have
If you like feeling and being manipulated

Although I wrote this in 2020, it feels as relevant to now, 2026, as it did then.

Remember you have within you the ability to change your life experience and the smallest change can have the biggest impact.

Sometimes your goal is just the next step, perhaps a different step or a different path. Who knows where that could lead? 💜

And sometimes you need the support of another person to discover what that is.

2020 Vision
I think we can all agree that this year has turned out to be not as we expected.

In eyesight terms 20-20 vision means it's perfect you can see exactly what's in front of you, you know exactly what's going on around you and you can see where you are headed.

Far from the case at the moment in this country and all over the world. It feels like we are holding our breath, waiting for the mist to clear, to see a way forward.

So how has your vision of 2020 changed over the last few months?

What has been brought into clearer perspective for you?

What re-evaluations have you made?

How have you changed your life and the way that it works for you?

Or do you feel stuck between your expectations and your reality, anxious, not able to see a future, a clear way forward?

You don't know which way to turn or how to change things to make it better for you so that you feel more relaxed, less anxious and unstuck?

The reality is it's all about the plan and if your plan hasn't come through for 2020 then perhaps you need to change what you were thinking and have a new plan.

When my contract finished in Jersey, working with an international bank I had no idea what my next step was or where. I'd lived on the island for 2 fabulous years, made life long friends and felt very sad to be leaving, Jersey felt like my home.

My manager offered me an opportunity working for the bank in London or the Isle of Man? Where? I had no idea and on a map saw this tiny island between Liverpool and Ireland.

London had lost its appeal to me after working in Liverpool Street for 3 months, so the Isle of Man it was, for a year. Colleagues said I was mad, they had horizontal rain in the Isle of Man!

As the plane taxied down the runway, leaving Jersey, the tears were rolling down my cheeks, I'd never felt so sad to leave anywhere and had no idea what was waiting for me.

As we drove from Ronaldsway Airport in the Isle of Man to the hotel, the beauty of the island made my heart sing. Big open spaces, green rolling fields and tall majestic trees on the hills. The hotel was on a golf course and would be my home for the next few months until I found a home to rent. It felt peaceful.

My new life soon took on it's own shape and familiarity. I made more life long friends on my 7 year Isle of Man journey.

I was married to my 2nd husband in a beautiful little church in Crosby and sadly bid farewell to our 4 babies that were miscarried.

I began my journey to become the Life Change Lady and lived a very good life in a loving, caring, fulfilling relationship.

What was my plan when I arrived in the Isle of Man, just the next step - to arrive, settle and see what happened, the Universe did the rest.

Bearing in mind your experience over the first 8 months of 2020 what is it you want for the last 4 months of 2020?

How can you make that a reality and improve your life quality, your life balance your comfort and ultimately your happiness?

BIG QUESTIONS & YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS

Sitting on the plane to the Isle of Man my hopes were for peace, friends and a life I loved in a place I loved. The hotel was where I made some of those life long friends and through them I met my husband. Little did I know when I checked in 💜.

Your answers are within you sometimes you need a little help and support in identifying what you want, what it is you need to do and where you are going. Sometimes for the next step, sometimes the next chapter of your life.

What opportunities are there for you? What do you want from your life?

And that's where I come in as a support for you, as a transformational life coach I can help you create the life you love that loves you back.

That may sound a bit precious and fluffy but actually what it means is that for everything you do you get a reward.

That reward is feeling good about who you are, the life that you're living, the people that you mix with and ultimately where you're heading, every day.

I specialise in supporting people who have experienced emotional abuse, bullying and feel unworthy. Often this makes you a big people pleaser sacrificing your own happiness to please others so they like you and you can feel good about who you are.

It's a learned behaviour, you weren't born that way and you can change it.

If you'd like some clarity for your next few months, getting some 20-20 vision on your way forward message me with your questions and challenges, maybe I can give you a different perception that may give you the clarity that you're looking for.

INVISIBLE
Today is a home day, sorting stuff, admin, housework, the usual. Then I noticed the light bulb I had to change 3 days ago, abandoned on the TV stand which had been 'invisible' and just lain there awaiting its fate.

It made me wonder how many people feel invisible in their lives, awaiting their fate. Constantly meeting other's expectations, trying to discover who they are and how they can live their best lives?

When you've lost your sense of who you are it can feel like you're adrift, floating, waiting to find a place, a situation where you feel comfortable and can put down your anchor.

A place where you feel part of something, where you feel appreciated, where you flourish and begin to become the person you feel you were born to be.

As a child you quickly learn how to please your carers and often that can mean ignoring your feelings, to please others.

Behaving in a way that pleases others but makes you feel uncomfortable. Losing the sense of who you are and how you want/need your life to be.

How do you find yourself again?
How do you become visible?

For the lightbulb it happens when the energy flows into its centre, to it's core and it lights up the room.

It's similar for you as a human being. Standing in your power is about owning your life and speaking your truth, asking for what you need or want to give you your best life experience.

Owning your feelings and strengthening your emotional core to enable you to be who you want to be because that's when you feel comfortable and at peace.

No one else knows how you feel unless you tell them. No one else knows what you need unless you tell them. If you feel uncomfortable how can you feel happy?

You are the only person living your life and you are the only person who can change your life experience.

So how do you get the power back into your life, how do you begin owning your life, becoming visible and heard?

By being kind to yourself. Acknowledge your feelings, develop your emotional intelligence. Decide how you want to behave, what you want to do, how you want to feel; meeting your OWN expectations.

Yes you OWN your life, you are the CEO of your life, your bus-y-ness. It's your boat to steer and power as you like, in a direction and at a pace that is conformable for you.

Remember other's expectations may not be the same as your expectations because they are based on other's experiences, opinions and perceptions. They are not you, they have lived a different life.

Be the light in your life, stand in the power/energy of who you are, shine bright, find your voice and let the world know what you need.

You are beautiful.
You are unique
You are amazing
You deserve the life you want
You deserve the life you dream of 💜

Yes I'm all about female empowerment BUT I've realised being an HSP man has as many challenges, if not more than being an HSP woman

As only 20% of the population those born with the personality trait of high sensitivity need to manage their worlds carefully because we live in the world designed by the other 80% for the other 80%.

Simple things can be a challenge for us, every day. For me, one challenge is bright lights and wherever I have been employed I've had the fluorescent tube light above my head removed.

Why?

Because the energy it emits feels like a weight pressing down on my head. Usually there is more than enough light in the area without that one tube and if not I substitute with a freestanding uprighter.

And that 20% is the same for all creatures from fruit flies to human beings AND it's gender equal, male and female, again for all creatures.

Think you could be one of us HSPs? There's a short questionnaire which could give uou greater clarity and understanding. Click the link to find out:- https://drive.google.com/file/d/17aPIPDrYSCA8upQA9QJuyD4MsLSMwI3f/view?usp=drivesdk

"My name's Arthur. I'm 72. I work at Second Chance Thrift Store on Maple Street. Been pricing donated clothes and organizing shelves for 9 years. Most people drop off bags without looking at me. I'm just the old man sorting through their leftovers.

But I notice everything.
Like the boy who came in last November, shivering in a torn hoodie. Couldn't be more than fourteen. He touched a winter coat on the rack, navy blue, barely worn, then checked the price tag. $12. His shoulders sagged.

He walked to the counter with a thin jacket instead. $3.
"That coat would fit you better," I said, nodding toward the navy one.
"Can't afford it," he mumbled.

After he left, I couldn't stop thinking about him. Minnesota winter was coming. That thin jacket wouldn't cut it.

Next week, he came back. Headed straight for the navy coat, touched it like it was gold, then walked away. This happened three more times.

Finally, I pulled the coat off the rack. Took it to the back room. Put a "SOLD" tag on it.
When he came in the following Tuesday, I was waiting. "Hey, kid. Someone bought this coat but never picked it up. Store policy, after two weeks, we have to discount it." I handed it to him. "It's $3 now."
His eyes went wide. "That's not... you're lying."
"You calling me a liar?" I said, pretending to be offended.

He bought it. His hands shook as he counted three dollar bills. Put it on right there in the store, zipped it up, and his whole face changed. Like he'd found armor.
"Thank you," he whispered.

I did that seventeen more times that winter. A single mom needing work shoes. An immigrant family needing blankets. A homeless woman needing socks. I'd move items to the back, mark them down, create "store policies" that didn't exist.

Then a customer caught me. Watched me do it.
Instead of reporting me, she donated $100. "For your store policies," she said with a knowing smile.
Word spread quietly. Regular customers started funding my "pricing errors." They'd buy $50 gift cards and leave them at the register. "For whoever needs it."

Last week, a young man walked in wearing that navy coat. But he wasn't fourteen anymore. He was in his twenties, college sweatshirt underneath.

"You're Arthur, right?" he said. "You gave me this coat seven years ago. Told me it was store policy." He smiled. "I knew you were lying. But you let me keep my pride."
He handed me an envelope. Inside was $500.

"I'm a social worker now," he said. "I help homeless youth. Because someone showed me that kindness doesn't have to be humiliating. It can look like a store policy."

I'm 72. I price used clothes that smell like other people's lives.

But I learned this, Dignity matters more than charity.
Help people without making them feel small.
Lie about the price. Bend the rules. Make up policies.
Let them walk out with their head up.
That's what changes lives."
Let this story reach more hearts....

21/11/2025

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough, and we'll be more content when they are.

After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our partner gets his or her act together when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice holiday, when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges.

It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

A quote comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said,

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink.... there is no better time than right now to be happy.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Work like you don't need money,

Love like you've never been hurt,

And dance like no one's watching.

At any age - life doesn't end when the story changes, it simply begins a new chapter 💜

At any age - life doesn't end when the story changes, it simply begins a new chapter 💜

My name is Clara Jensen, I’m 72 years old,
and last spring, I did something my daughter politely called
“a spontaneous decision that clearly skipped the planning stage.”

I moved into a bookstore.

Not metaphorically — literally.
After forty-nine years of marriage, one long career in accounting,
and a quiet suburban house that always smelled faintly of furniture polish,
I packed up two suitcases and rented the tiny apartment above a secondhand bookstore in Copenhagen.

After my husband passed away three years ago, the days all blurred together —
coffee, laundry, the evening news, repeat.
My daughter said, “Mom, you need a hobby.”
So I joined a yoga class. Lasted one week — too much bending, not enough coffee.
Then, one rainy Tuesday, I walked past a handwritten sign:

“Help Wanted — Bookshop Assistant. Must love tea, books, and conversation.”

I walked in.
A man in his thirties with paint on his hands looked up.
“Ever run a bookstore before?” he asked.
I said, “No. But I’ve balanced more checkbooks than you’ve read novels.”

He laughed — and that was that.

Now my days are nothing like before.
I open the shop at ten, sweep the front steps, and brew a pot of Earl Grey.
Regulars drift in like old friends.
We talk about everything from poetry to politics to whether cats dream in colour.

My daughter still doesn’t quite understand.
“Mom, you’re seventy-two! Don’t you want to rest?”
I tell her, “Darling, I’ve been resting for forty years. It’s exhausting.”

In the evenings, we host “Silent Reading Nights.”
People sit among the shelves, reading together in peaceful quiet.
Sometimes a young couple will whisper over a poetry book,
and I’ll smile because love still sounds the same in every generation —
soft, hopeful, and slightly nervous.

One night, a student left me a note on the counter:

“Thank you, Clara. You remind me that growing old doesn’t mean fading away.”

I kept that note pinned above my desk.

These days, I help order new titles, run the shop’s Instagram,
and every Friday, I post a photo of our best-loved books under the hashtag .
Apparently, people enjoy the ramblings of an elderly woman surrounded by dusty hardcovers —
I now have 52,000 followers who call me “the Bookstore Grandma.”

Do I miss my old house? No.
There, the walls echoed.
Here, the shelves whisper.

💛 The Lesson:
Starting over doesn’t have an age limit.
You don’t stop growing when you grow old —
you just grow differently.

So move, laugh, volunteer, fall in love with something new.
Because life doesn’t end when the story changes —
it simply begins another chapter.
