🚨Saturday Match Report🚨

The penultimate game of the season for the boys and we had a full contingent 🙌🏻.
Slow start and within 2 minutes we conceded, but then quickly equalised a minute later through a great finish from Alfie ⚽️ into the bottom corner. But then another minute later we conceded again, but we didn’t let our heads drop and equalised for a second time, Charlie ⚽️ smashing the ball home from close range! We did go into half time a goal down, a quick team talk and we were back out.
Rhys had an accident the night before, but wanted to give it a go and try to play, but could only lasted 10 minutes and therefore Zach stepped in.
Second half kicked off and within 14 seconds of the restart we conceded, but again our heads didn’t drop and we got ourselves back into the game with Charlie ⚽️ again with a proper poachers goal following the opposition keeper pushing the ball out into his path!
Our equaliser came following an indirect free kick inside the opposition box after a header infringement from from the defender. Jack laid it off to Alfie ⚽️ who made no mistake and fired the ball into the back of the net! We did go into the lead after a bit of a scramble and Finlay ⚽️ was there in the right place at the right time to poke the ball home!
The game ended up all level and it really could have gone either way, but we played some great football against a very physical opposition, so a big well done to everyone! 👏🏻👏🏻

Finlay - he’s playing some great football at the moment, has such a great football brain and has great chemistry with Alfie and our midfield, some of the interchange play is brilliant! Well done and keep up these fantastic performances! 👏🏻👏🏻
Zach - as mentioned he stepped into goal due to injury to Rhys which showed great character and he made a couple of great saves, one in particular in the second half which kept us in the game, well done buddy great to see 👏🏻👏🏻

🚨Saturday Matchday Report🚨

The season is starting to draw to a close now, but the players are still showing full commitment in their play.

A great team display, trying to play the passing game we want to see, not the kick and rush football and they’re getting there. Much to look at in training, but considering we’ve moved up a group this season we have more than heals our own.

It wasn’t a great start yesterday, within 90 seconds we found ourselves a goal down due a mis-hit shot that caught our defenders and Rhys out as it looped into the air and bounced over the line.
We were level very quickly though and then went onto to dominate the half and score a few more before conceding a penalty from a handball.
The second half started better than the first and we scored another, before conceding a goal with 5 minutes to go, but we got a penalty ourselves late on and Jack stepped up to fire home his first of the season! 👏🏻👏🏻

This was difficult due to it being such a team display!
Zach - probably his best display for us, made some great blocks, clearances and some neat passes too, he did seem shocked to hear his name, but it was thoroughly deserved! Well done 👏🏻👏🏻
Preston - doesn’t get to play much, which will change going forward, but he didn’t look out of place at all, was tidy in possession and made sure he cleared his lines when needed, well done 👏🏻👏🏻

🚨Saturday Matchday Report🚨

So back after a 3 week hiatus of football and I just wanted them to go out have some fun and try to remember what we’d been working on before the break.
It was certainly a fast start and we were on top and got the reward after Max 🅰️ put a great through ball for Alfie ⚽️ who still had a lot to do, but managed to plough through 2 players before unleashing a thunderous shot into the bottom corner from outside of the penalty area! ☄️
It what a tight half with both teams going at it, but we couldn’t add to our total at half time.
The second half kicked off and we had to do a little defending, but conceded a couple of goals before we started to kick back into gear again. Rhys produced some important saves as well to keep it close.
If we had our shooting boots on, we might have scored 4 or 5 before we got our next goal, but with about 5 minutes left we grabbed our second through typical tenacious closing down and harrying of the defenders from Alfie 🅰️ that led to a hurried pass to their keeper and excellent closing down by Finlay ⚽️ who pounced on a loose control from the keeper to tap in 🙌🏻.
Within a minute and half we had our 3rd, Alfie’s 🅰️ shot could only be parried by their keeper and Ezra ⚽️ was on hand to say thank you very much I’ll have that to tap in.
We ended up scoring with the last touch of the games as well, Alfie 🅰️ again causing havoc in the opposition defence and the ball bobbles towards Finlay and Ezra, who were both waiting to shoot, but it was Finlay ⚽️ who got to it first to fire the ball into the back of the net! 🔥
Great team performance, so much so I couldn’t pick 2 players out of them, so they all got player of the match! 👏🏻👏🏻
