The Glasscutters Bowling Club Presentation Night was a fantastic evening celebrating the outstanding achievements of our bowlers over the past year. It was wonderful to recognise the dedication, sportsmanship, and success of so many members who have represented the club with pride. A special highlight of the night was welcoming Phil Ellett from WWCBA who proudly presented our youth achievement awards and acknowledged the incredible promise shown by our young players. It was a great night of celebration, community spirit and well-deserved recognition for all involved.

Saturday B Team - End of Season Report

The Saturday B team wrapped up the season in 8th place with 103 points. With a side made up largely of new players, this was always going to be a learning year, but the progress has been excellent.

Our youth players, many enjoying their first full season, rose to the challenge brilliantly and showed real promise for the future.

Lee Palmer topped the team averages to take the winner’s spot, with Becky Hurley close behind as runner-up after a strong campaign.

Overall, it’s been a year of development, enthusiasm, and team spirit. With this foundation in place, the B team is well set to push on and achieve even more next season.

Sunday Team - End of Season Report

In our first season in Division 3, the Sunday team made a strong impression, finishing 3rd with 134 points. It was a confident debut, showing we’re more than capable at this level.

Kevin Bibb led the way as team winner on the averages, with Dave Morris close behind as runner-up. Both set the standard with consistent, determined performances.

Every player contributed to a season we can be proud of. A top-three finish at the first attempt is an excellent achievement, and it gives us plenty of confidence for next year.

𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔
The Ladies A Team at The Glasscutters enjoyed a fantastic campaign, finishing 1st in the league with an impressive 120 points. Their consistency and determination across the season saw them crowned well-deserved champions.

In the team averages, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻 took top spot and also claimed 2nd place in the overall league averages, while 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗳 secured a strong second place for the team.

A season of quality bowling has earned the Ladies A Team a place in the history books, with plenty of confidence to carry forward.

𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕
The Ladies B Team also had a positive season, finishing comfortably mid-table and showing steady progress throughout. The side produced many competitive performances and highlighted the depth of talent across the club.

In the team averages, 𝗟𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗿 led the way, with 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 close behind as runner-up.

With solid foundations in place and plenty of enthusiasm in the squad, the Ladies B Team can look ahead with optimism for the seasons to come.

𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗔
The Thursday A Team at The Glasscutters crowned an excellent season by finishing 1st in Division 4 of the Dudley & District League, securing the title with an 8-point margin. The campaign included several nail-biting matches, particularly against Woodman MP, but the team held their nerve to come out on top.

In the team averages, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗺 finished in first place with 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗳 close behind in second. Mark also impressed across the league, taking 2nd place in the overall League Averages.

A strong season of determination and consistency has earned the team a well-deserved promotion and plenty of confidence heading into next year.

𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗕 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺
The Thursday B Team at The Glasscutters completed their season in 6th place in Division 6 of the Dudley & District League. It was a fantastic effort from a side full of up-and-coming stars and young prodigies, who showed great promise throughout the season.

In the team averages, 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘆 took top spot, with 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗔𝘁𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 finishing second after another consistent season.

With plenty of talent and enthusiasm in the squad, the future looks bright for the Thursday B Team.

The Over 55’s A Team at The Glasscutters have completed a superb season in the Dudley & District League Division 4, finishing 1st place with an outstanding 34-point lead. The team lost only one game all year, showing consistency, skill and determination from start to finish.

In the team averages, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗺 took top spot, with 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘁 in second. Their excellent form was mirrored in the League Averages, where 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗺 once again finished first, closely followed by 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘁.

It has been a dominant campaign, and the team can look back with pride on an excellent achievement.

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟱𝟱’𝘀 𝗕 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺

In their first season competing in Division 6 of the Dudley & District League, the Over 55’s B Team at The Glasscutters secured a solid 6th place finish. With plenty of competitive matches and valuable experience gained, the team can be proud of their efforts as they continue to develop.

In the team averages, 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗔𝘁𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 finished top, with 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗺 taking second place after a consistent run of performances.

A positive first year provides a strong foundation for the team to build on next season.

The 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 at The Glasscutters have enjoyed a remarkable first season in the Oldbury & District League, finishing top of the table with an impressive 10-point lead.

Consistency and determination across the campaign saw the team quickly establish themselves as strong contenders, and by the closing weeks they had secured the title in style.

In the team averages, claiming first place was 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁, with 𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗺 close behind in second. 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 also went on to win the overall League Averages, underlining his excellent season.

It has been an outstanding debut year, and the whole squad should feel proud of their efforts and achievements.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather or better company – it’s been a truly fantastic day of bowls at the Cutters.
