Your happiness, self worth and self confidence are often the result of multiple factors and not necessarily related to how you look.

Therefore you should not be reliant on “knowing” that you’ll be happy when you reach your body composition goal.

The gym can definitely boost your mood and that is an amazingly powerful thing to take care advantage of, especially when you’re feeling low or anxious.
I will be the first person to put my hand up and say that I can take my relationship with the gym too far. It’s all well and good when I’ve had a strong training session, I’ll take advantage of the boost it gives me and will put it into positive productivity!
Realising that training is not the be all and end all and for you to recognise the good sessions, you need to have bad ones. Not every session is going to be 10/10, but not every session will be bad either.

Especially when pursuing a body composition related goal.

A log book has so many benefits but there are times when sometimes being too focused on the log book and numbers can actually be counterproductive.

Remember that you will can’t expect to get stronger week after week.

If you were able to lift heavier every single week then you’d be the strongest person on the planet in no time.
