Been very few updates to this page, mainly because I've done absolutely nothing to the car since last race meeting 🤣.
At some point I might pump the tyres up, watch this space. (It's not getting cleaned though, I haven't cleaned it in 20 years)

Obviously not the race car but the tow vehicle this time. Actuator arm is no longer connected to the wastgate, the pin had rusted away and broke. The engine is from a very early subaru wrx(94 I think)so i expect a few breakages being 30 years old. Absolute pain to get to it and trying to fix it without dropping the engine out is going to be a challenge.
Gaffa tape or zip ties won't work on this fix unfortunately.

Bug jam update....So I had zero turbo boost all through rwyb and qualifying running 13s and wasn't until we were ready to go into eliminations that I found a turbo pipe was not on properly. So fixed that in minutes but I had no idea what index to put on the back window for eliminations, just put a 12.4 and try to hit it.
Immediately off the line the power was there and knew I had to lift at the top end but unfortunately I didn't lift enough and broke out by quite a lot. Anyway the car seems to have decent power with the new turbo, shame I didn't spot the loose turbo pipe sooner.

If you were expecting to see a air-cooled vw engine, sorry I went to the darkside a long time ago and fitted a subaru wrx engine. It has been rebuilt with sti internals, hybrid 20g turbo, larger injectors and runs a link ecu.

Excuse the state of my garage, that's how I work (kaos). Anyway bug jam is a week away and I'm racing in VWDRC Pro, first time in 16ish years.
We had a fun time at doorslammers earlier in the year when the turbo had enough and broke the shaft, resulting in loads of smoke and an early exit. Turbo is rebuilt,car back together and running. We shall see what happens next week!!
