It’s always a pleasure to read client feedback at the end of the coaching journey.
I recently supported a client through 5 sessions of transition coaching, offered during a period of restructuring at their organisation. The sessions were offered as a confidential space to think, explore options, and figure out what's next, without judgement or an agenda.
Hearing that they felt clearer on their purpose, more energised and truly heard was a privilege. For me, that’s the power of coaching through times of change. It gives you the space to find your own answers, even if it feels overwhelming at the start.
If people in your organisation are navigating uncertainty right now, let's talk about how transition coaching could help.

Much needed few days away in Wales to switch off and recharge 🍃

Lots of hiking, biking and wild swimming over Snowdonia these last few days have been bliss! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this much sun in Wales- we timed it so well 🤩

Back to business today, I love how a good break brings in some much needed energy😁

Women in Leadership- Be Your Authentic Self. What a fabulous time we had! ✨

I felt so grateful to be invited to deliver a session on this topic for the Black Country Chamber of Commerce This is something I am truly passionate about, being true to ourselves in the workplace and leading with authenticity.

We often don’t take the time to truly think about how we can be authentic at work, it often only comes to our attention when we’ve acted inauthentically. And that’s usually down to external influences challenging our ability to act in alignment our values and beliefs.

So, yesterday I shared some insights, tips and stories around how we can increase our confidence as women in leadership positions, understanding the important values that drive us and how we maintain our professional boundaries.

I was honoured to sit with the fabulous ladies on our panel Sophie Wardell, Jeni Sellick, & Lucy Rook whom all shared their words of wisdom around their career journeys and authenticity.

As soon as our panel opened up about the challenges they’d faced with maintaining authenticity at work, others in the room opened up with similar challenges themselves. It was so wonderful to see such vulnerability and strength shared across one room of amazing women.

Huge thank you to Higgs LLP for being wonderful hosts, Black Country Chamber of Commerce for dedicating an event to this valuable topic and all of those who could make the event.

And a special shout out to lovely friends and connections there to learn and support us on the panel. Women supporting women is just the best! ❣️

Having the space to work through challenges, open up thinking, and take a moment to slow down within the coaching room is a strategic advantage for any new leader.

If you're stepping into a new leadership role, or simply feeling like you could benefit from having that thinking space, I'd love to connect.

❓"What do I need to prepare before our coaching call later?"❓

A question I often receive in my inbox ahead of beginning a coaching programme with a new client. And it is a great question. 💡

My response is usually “Just come along with an idea of what you'd like to work on in today's session. Whatever is most relevant for you right now to have a bit of thinking space on.” 💭

This might look like reflecting on a specific situation you'd like to learn from to move forward with. Or we can look at what’s most important for you within your areas of focus that you shared in your pre-coaching form.

The client will always decide where we start, and I follow their lead by asking curious coaching questions and pulling out useful tools/techniques that might be helpful. 🧰

Hands up if a good walk helps you process your thoughts? 🙋🏻‍♀️

It certainly helps me. After a fabulous coffee catch up with a fellow leadership coach this morning I left buzzing full of motivation and ideas. So, whilst the sun was shining in glorious Birmingham, I got my steps in and soon had all those buzzing ideas formed into a solid plan (written up by hand in my trusty notepad on the train journey home) 🚂

Ready for a productive meeting with this evening to plan our upcoming webinar on ‘Handling Tricky Conversations for Leaders and HR Professionals’ 💻

Happy Wednesday everyone! ☀️

I recently finished working with a wonderful client who was 10 months into his new management role. With fantastic technical skill and signs of great potential as a manager, he was promoted with a great amount of faith.

As he started to settle into the role, the real challenges he faced were around the functionality of his team. It felt like walking into tension every single day, as the team had almost split into two camps.

Communication was poor, there was friction, big personalities competing all at once and some passive aggressive behaviour which has become the norm.

So, we focused on how he was leading the dynamics in front of him, which looked like:
🔹 strengthening his listening skills so people felt heard without him becoming passive
🔹 staying assertive despite the team politics around him
🔹 calmly challenging inappropriate comments and behaviours in the moment
🔹 thinking strategically about the physical environment and team positioning in the office
🔹 regulating himself, especially when he felt frustrated or emotionally triggered

Yes the team started to shift and work more cohesively. But the real achievement he noticed was:

"I stopped reacting emotionally to every difficult situation.”

Such a fantastic transformation and a pleasure to be a part of 👏

I've been delivering a Mental Health First Aid for Managers course this week to a group of lovely individuals passionate about best supporting their team, and one of their key takeaways has been this useful little acronym:

INAM= It's Not About Me 💡

When a team member plucks up the courage to talk to us about how stressed they've been recently or how they've had trouble sleeping, we often respond with how we've been through something similar ourselves. We do this to relate and sometimes to reduce the 'awkwardness' of the conversation.

But actually what that team member needs in that moment is someone to listen. Listen without interruption, enabling them to feel validated and heard.

So, next time you get asked 'Have you got 5 mins?', remember INAM, it may be just what the other person needs 💚

Kicked off Mental Health Awareness week yesterday with a webinar hosted by Crosby Managament Training Ltd on Practical Steps to Protect your Wellbeing at Work 💻💚

In the webinar I shared information on how to support your own wellbeing in the workplace, tips for managers to support their team, and ideas for organisations to create environments which support staff wellbeing.

Companies who foster a culture of open communication and mental health awareness see a 20% increase in employee retention rates (CIPD health and wellbeing at work 2025), reinforcing how important it is to create a supportive workplace culture 👥

Huge thank you to Crosby Management Training for inviting me to deliver this webinar and supporting their people! 👏

Had a fabulous day at The Workplace Event | The Facilities Event with Katie Hitchinson today! 🌱💡

We kicked off the day saying ‘yes’ to being a part of the The Facilities Management Exchange podcast! Our first podcast experience together, and as you can see from our ‘awkward laughter’ picture here we took it very seriously! We look forward to hearing our ‘ramblings’ on the episode! 🎤

Loved hearing the talks held in the ‘workplace leader summit’ space. We learnt so much about; creating equity (and difference between equity and equality), the importance of self-promotion in the workplace, work benefits being so much more than the financials, and relationship based work 👥

We later enjoyed listening to fabulous conversation around ‘the burnout badge of honour’. The stage was full of women in business being honest about the juggles of business and life, the real impact of true burnout, and how to recognise the signs in our staff. A key takeaway here was that organisational actions need to mirror what’s in policy 👏

And finally a quote that’s stuck with me from today “Workplaces should measure their impact on humanity, not just their profits”. 🫶

Great to make so many fabulous new connections!
