🐺Immediate Reaction ‼️
Result always the most important thing and a huge step forwards for the confidence of the club as awhole - long way to go so getting carried away? Absolutely not!
🐺Pros
🔸Defensively aggressive in press and counter-press, not necessarily where on the field but the individual defending was much more impactful on the player with the ball and hunted more in packs! Defensive structure and organization a huge part to help with the individual.
🔸Similar to last game, less overplay in defensive areas and playing through the lines quicker from Sa, back three and central midfield pair.
🔸Pivotal change in central midfielders purpose with the ball, receiving to play forward and with intent as opposed to playing sideways and backwards - Andre and Joao Gomes were exceptional.
♦️Cons
▪️Understandably nervous at 1-0, would have to likes us to continue to play forwards a little quicker to keep playing in advanced areas. Felt we went back to some GON tendencies as we tried to control the game.
▪️Possession / Speed of Play - still some easy give aways early on in the game, confidence will build this better but technically need to make sure we play to our strengths and get caught on the ball cheaply against the better teams.
▪️Final delivery - had some good positions to try and capitalize on with some misplaced balls - Doherty, Ait Nouri and Larsen spring to mind.
Trying to keep a balanced argument with 3 pros and cons but difficult to list cons based on game by game - cons will always feel a little harsh with a really positive performance overall!
Two games, two wins for Vitor Pereira's Wolves! 🙌
