Sometimes you’ve just gotta commit!

Now I’m not saying your passions, fitness goals etc has to begin today!

But surely if you don’t give yourself a timeframe then when are you going to commit?

This is why any physical fitness challenge or race is a good thing in my eyes.

Whether you leave it last minute or not, you’re committed to doing something.

You’re exercising & training for more than one purpose!

What are you committed to doing at the moment?

Body transformation?

Fitness race?

Road race?

Or just staying active?

Business dinners can be a nightmare if you’re currently on a fat loss phase.

You’ll be the one of the few, or at worst, the only one trying to positive changes to your habits.

Well if you’re lost & stuck, & wondering ways to navigate your business dinner without looking to boring to your colleagues, here are four helpful tips I think you could benefit from.

The concept of eating less on rest days or calorie cycling has been around for years.

When calorie cycling, people like to split their days into high & low calorie days. Some like to have lower calories on rest days since in theory, there energy output on those days could be lower.

Others will or might, modify carbohydrates & fats into high, low or medium days.

Calorie cycling is just simply a tool you can use to help stay in a net deficit for the week.

So if eating less on rest days is manageable for you and a way for you to maintain consistency, it’s another tool you can use to make the fat loss of your diet effective.

However, like anything, don’t take it too extremes. Keep monitoring your protein intake & keep it consistent.

The problem is so many people are simply asking the wrong question.⁣

I think the questions you may need to ask is ⁣

1. How many calories should I be looking to eat each day to lose body fat?⁣


2. How many meals can I fit in to fit my busy schedule? ⁣

Yeah meal frequency can be impactful for muscle growth & overall energy, but here, we’re talking about fat loss. ⁣

Moral of the story, rather than focussing on how many meals you need to achieve fat loss results, you should be paying attention to your total calories for the week. ⁣

One hot day doesn’t make a summer or something?

Just a reminder that how ever annoyed you might get at yourself, it’s not setting you back.

It’s down to you how you react & respond.

So stop feeling for yourself & get back on side (that’s my football lingo incase you were wondering)

Here are 5 reasons why your weight WILL fluctuate - even if you’re on a “cough” calorie deficit.

1. Salt & Carb intake
2. Working out
3. Medication & Hormones
4. Food & Water Weight

So this is just a friendly reminder that daily fluctuations are normal. Your weight will fluctuate up to 5 to 6 pounds per day.

So no need to stress over it.

My advice if you want to be as accurate as possible with your weight & body composition is this…

As soon as you wake up & empty your bladder.

Now you may want to choose another time of the day & that’s fine. Just be sure to keep it consistent to those times to get an accurate representation of your progress.

Okay not exactly but it’s there or there about 😅⁣

Joking aside, today does bring about a very special day for me personally. ⁣

It marks a significant day in my life, one, where I went to a job interview that would forever change my life. ⁣

A job interview that everyone within my circle said ⁣

‘Oh you won’t make it in the fitness industry’ ⁣

Or my personal favourite ⁣

‘No one needs a personal trainer’ ⁣

9 years, 15k hours on the gym floor, it’s fair to say that having a coach is needed. ⁣

So with that, I want to share 15 lessons I’ve learnt within my time in quite possibly, the best job a former shop floor assistant at Homebase could ask for…⁣

1. Don’t compare yourself to others⁣
2. It’s alright to not be great in every session⁣
3. Be proud of just showing up ⁣
4. Know the difference between a coach, & a trainer (the two aren’t the same). ⁣
5. Consistency over intensity ⁣
6. Always ask questions. No matter how stupid it may sound or who you might annoy/offend. ⁣
7. Movement over weight…every single time. ⁣
8. You’re not going to ruin your fitness with one bad day⁣
9. Breath⁣
10. Be thankful you’re able to move in ways millions of others would dream for⁣
11. Quick fixes don’t fix anything. ⁣
12. Your core is more than just crunches & twists⁣
13. If you sit at a desk all day, train your posterior ⁣
14. If you’re unaware, you’re uneducated. ⁣
15. Be good & help others walking into the gym. Don’t be a dick. ⁣

I think you’ve earned the right to switch off and take a step back on your training & nutrition. ⁣

So this is just your reminder to enjoy this time of the year⁣

Spend the previous time with friends, family & loved ones ⁣

& you’re worried about gaining a little holiday weight ⁣

Don’t panic ⁣

It’s not permanent! ⁣

So I’m wishing every single one of you a very Merry Christmas! ⁣
