“I feel fat.”

A phrase I hear from women all the time.

But fat isn’t actually a feeling.

When you stop and think about it, what you’re often feeling is:

• Bloated
• Hormonal
• Tired
• Stressed
• Puffy from a high-salt meal
• Frustrated
• Less confident than usual
• Running on poor sleep

Yet somehow, all of those feelings get translated into one statement:

“I feel fat.”

The thing is, your body didn’t change overnight.

One meal didn’t ruin your progress.
One weekend didn’t undo your hard work.
One bad body image day doesn’t define you.

Sometimes it’s not your body that needs fixing.

Sometimes you just need rest.
Sometimes you need perspective.
Sometimes you need to stop viewing yourself through the lens of your worst moment.

The next time you catch yourself saying, “I feel fat,” ask yourself:

“What am I really feeling right now?”

Because more often than not, what you’re feeling has nothing to do with body fat at all.

Motivation comes and goes.

The people who get results aren’t motivated every day, they’ve built habits, routines, and accountability that help them keep showing up.

That’s one of the biggest benefits of coaching. Having someone in your corner to support you, guide you, and keep you accountable when motivation is low.

If you’re keen to start online coaching and see what having that support could do for you, let’s chat. 📩

Feeling “heavier” in the heat? ☀️💦

If the scales are suddenly up during this hot weather, it’s very likely not body fat.

When temperatures rise, your body naturally holds onto more water to help regulate temperature and prevent dehydration. Add in sweating, salty foods, disrupted sleep, holidays, BBQs, alcohol, or changes to routine, and it’s completely normal to feel more bloated or puffy than usual.

A few things to remember:

✅ Water weight is temporary
You do not gain several pounds of fat overnight.

✅ Heat can increase water retention
Especially if you’re dehydrated, your body holds onto fluid as protection.

✅ More carbs + more salt = more stored water Again, completely normal and reversible.

What helps?

💧 Drink water consistently through the day
🚶 Keep moving, even if workouts feel harder
😴 Focus on sleep and recovery - I know… easier said than done! 😂
⚖️ Don’t obsess over daily scale fluctuations

Stay consistent. Your body will regulate itself.

Hot weather weight gain is usually water, not fat. 🌡️

I don’t usually talk about HRT or menopause support in detail because it’s quite personal, but I’ve had quite a few questions lately, so I wanted to share something I’ve been using.

For the past couple of months I’ve been taking a supplement from NuMind Wellness, and I was honestly a bit sceptical at first. But I’ve noticed some really positive changes for me, particularly around bloating and sleep quality. Even my Garmin tracking has reflected improvements in my rest and recovery.

It’s a comprehensive formula that includes a range of nutrients such as B vitamins, zinc, magnesium, ashwagandha and green tea extract. I also like that it’s vegan and gluten-free, which makes it easy to fit into my routine.

I feel grateful to be working with a brand that aligns with my wellbeing focus during this stage of life.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me directly. I also have a discount code available for 30% off if anyone wants to try it.

I’ll pop the link in my stories too.

You are NORMAL!!!

STOP comparing yourself to what’s in your feed!! Perfection doesn’t exist!

1. It is normal to have rolls when you bend over! (even when you have abs you have a certain % of fat in your body which is completely normal and healthy - no one has 0% fat or should have; fat is necessary for your body)

2. It is normal to have stretch marks!

3. It is normal to have cellulite! (cellulite is a normal feature of the female body, even for lean, athletic women). I’ve done many a posts talking about mine.

4. It is normal to have bad days! (Everyone struggles sometimes).

5. It is normal to feel lazy! It happens to the best of us. In these busy times, taking the occasional lazy day isn’t just alright but much needed.

6. It is normal to fall off the wagon with your nutrition! There are no good and bad foods. Some food is more nutritionally dense than others but no food should be labeled good or bad as this does your mindset more damage than good.

7.It is normal to fail and try again! (even if you’ve failed in the past, don’t be afraid to fail again).

8.It is normal to skip your workout! It is completely okay and normal as missing one day of exercise won’t completely end or affect your process and progress but making it a habit can.

Let’s just be normal. 💛

If I wanted to get abs…

Getting abs takes nutrition, training, and consistency, not just crunches!

My top tips:

Clean up your diet:
👉Eat in a caloric deficit
👉Prioritise lean protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs

Train all areas of your core:
🔥 Upper abs – Crunches, hanging leg raises
🔥 Lower abs – Leg raises, reverse crunches
🔥 Obliques – Russian twists, side planks
🔥 Deep core – Planks, vacuums

Stay consistent and be patient. ✌️

Do abs make you fit and healthy… maybe not… but your goal is your goal… 🤷🏻‍♀️
