Ask yourself - why do I care about what the scales say…

Because in my eyes, the scales are just one way of convincing ourselves we’re making progress

Because if the numbers are going down, then what we’re doing is working, right?

But actually that number can fluctuate daily, and is not a direct representation of how much fat you’re losing or gaining

A lot of people have this idea that “I’ll be happy when I lose another stone” or “I want to be 10 stone”

But why? Why that specific weight?

What if you changed your body shape/size/composition to how you want it to look, but you actually didn’t lose that stone?

Because what actually happened is you put on some muscle, whilst losing some fat

Your desired body is most probably heavier than you think it is

And I promise, if you like the way your body looks, moves, and feels, you won’t give even the slightest of f**ks about what you weigh

Stop obsessing over the scales ✋🏽

They shouldn’t define how you feel about your body!

When we like what we see in the mirror, we’re more likely to look after it, because our motivation is higher
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we hate what we see in the mirror, our motivation is much lower and the self destruction can kick in!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“My tummy is too big”
“I’m so ugly”
“My legs have cellulite”
“My arms are too flabby”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sadly when we use hateful language towards ourselves, we begin to self sabotage
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So not only do we continue to self hate and talk negatively to ourselves, we also continue with the very same destructive lifestyle and behaviours that perpetuate those negative emotions
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And round and round we go in this vicious, self hating, negative cycle
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what can you do to break this cycle?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
INVEST
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🕘 Time
🔋 Energy
💪🏼 Effort
💷 Money (if you want the extra help)

There’s no escaping the fact that to make a change, it will require a combination of those things 👆🏼

It just will

Having an internal sense of power and control is so important to both mental and physical health!

And is key when making changes in your life
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your sense of power/control isn’t necessarily based on reality - it’s just a belief!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s the way that you see things, think about things and how you process information
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
YOU CAN CHANGE IT 💪🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How many of you talk down to yourself? Give yourself a hard time? Criticise your body?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It happens so often, but it is a behaviour that needs to change!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Positive self talk is something to be practiced, and if you are kind to yourself then you are more likely to make changes, and BELIEVE you can do so!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Research has suggested that the more you can perceive or imagine the benefits of your hard work and effort, the more effort you will put in!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once you BELIEVE that you can achieve change, you will put in massive, determined effort to do so!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So start imagining your success. Whatever that may be - fat loss, increased self esteem, a stronger body etc

Attack your goals with the BELIEF that YOU are in control of change, and visualise this change 😍

Stop fixating on the end result, and start focusing on what you have to do in order to reach it!

It’s great to have big goals

Big aspirations

Big targets

Whether that’s physically how you want to look, or how much you want to lift in the gym

The trouble with focusing too much on the end result is, it can make the whole process seem daunting as hell!

You could be quite far off from where you want to be

This doesn’t make it unattainable

But it means it will take time…

…more time than you might think!

So my advice is to bridge the gap and start focusing on what you can implement each day to reach your goal

Focus on doing the daily things well

The time is passing regardless of whether you put effort into it or not

So you may as well start making strides now!

But be patient!

Don’t overthink the process and stop trying to skip steps

Keep doing the necessaries WELL

And you’ll get there 👊🏼
