🏆 Man of the Match 🏆

Winsham First Team Man of the Match: Stuart Vine

Stu led a back four to a very calm and composed performance againt Yetminster United FC Reserves. Leading by example, winning tackles, headers, and cutting out the Yetminster attacks

Such performances at the back allow our attacking players to flourish, and flourish they did.

Winsham Reserve Team Man if the Match: Archie Lovelock

Archie was a constant thorn in Southwalk F.C side with his persistent running, pressure and hassling both going forwards and supporting defensively.

Archie started the match as part of a front 3 and then covered in both central defence and at left back later in the match.

Well played to both players 💪

ANOTHER POSITIVE WEEKEND OF FOOTBALL

Winsham Firsts secured their first win of the season, with a convincing 7-1 victory over Yetminster United FC Reserves. Lots of lovely football played, and could have been more than 7 home goals.

Winsham Reserves played a very competitive match against Southwalk F.C, and while the score may indicate one story it was very much a case of missed opportunities by the reserves, with Southwalk taking their chances at the end of the match. Improvements week on week is the goal 💪

Today is the day for Matty's cut.

Everyone at Winsham United Football Club is proud of him for making this choice, some of us have only known Matt looking like a viking 😂

WEEKEND FOOTBALL RETURNS

Last week saw the return of Perry Street and District Football League football and although the results didnt go our way, there were certainly positives to take from each match.

We dust ourselves off and go again, with the firsts facing a challenging match against Yetminster United FC Reserves, while our Reserves take on this seasons newcomers Southwalk FC.

Both bars will be open so feel free to come along, support the teams and have a drink or two.

⚽️ FOOTBALL RETURNS ⚽️

After what seems like an eternity, our football season truly kicks off today with both teams taking on very competetive openers.

We at Winsham United Football Club are proud of what we have achieved throughout our history, but what we have been able to build over the last 12-18 months is nothing short of remarkable.

We now have 2 teams, an expanded committee, double the amount of players signed on, and we are back where we call home, and we can't wait to kick off this afternoon.

Absolutely awful behaviour towards the local club and community.

Really positive afternoon of football, food, drink, friendship, and fundraising today.

Both teams in action today, with Winsham Firsts playing against Crewkerne Firsts, and our Winsham Reserves playing against Crewkerne Reserves.

Some lovely football played by all 4 teams but more importantly, we raised a healthy amount of money for our player, Matty Gaylard, ahead of his Head Shave for charity on the 12th of September.

Big thanks to all that came today, aswell as the support Crewkerne Rangers FC gave our Club, Matty, and the local community.
