WHAT IS A SMALL THING? Maybe its train strikes cutting into your session time by 15 minutes. Maybe its the line for the squat rack looking like a new iPhone launch (PLUG-that never happens at Bar None, you always get a rack. Just saying!). Either way, whether its gym, diet or sleep pattern, its very easy to take a small inconvenience and use it to procrastinate or worse, still not start. We do this because it still makes us feel proactive in the face of taking a bath on a potentially challenging thing we wanted to do. There will always be something in the way, a reason you don’t start a new sleep routine or environmental challenge that made one more day of an old diet seem valid. If the game is consistency, then a gradual and scalable improvement is where to start, and that small start towards a big change is better then waiting for conditions to be “perfect”.
