Our Nordic Walking Sessions last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, and are held in Malmesbury, Chippenham and the surrounding area. We have eight volunteers, three instructors and five walk leaders, all trained and certified with INWA and
British Nordic Walking. This means that we have walks available most weekday mornings and some evenings as well as a weekly Walking for Health session and regular longer Trail Walks. Our Nordic Walking classes are suitable for adults over the age of 18 and for all levels of ability. We aim to keep our sessions fun and to encourage the development of friendship as well as fitness. Our walk schedule is advertised to members via our WhatsApp group. British Nordic Walking advise that "Nordic Walking is more than just “walking with poles” – it offers lots of benefits from a specially developed technique that enhances your natural walking style by using your upper, as well as lower, body to propel you forward. You can get the full range of benefits if you learn the complete technique." We run ‘Introduction to Nordic Walking Courses' in Malmesbury and request that our members complete a course in order to join Go Nordic Walking. The course aims to teach you the basics of Nordic Walking, with a view to you being able to join any of our Nordic Walking sessions. If you would like a ‘Taster Session’, please email me (24 hours in advance) and we can arrange a suitable date. On the day of your ‘Taster Session’ please arrive 10 minutes before the start time so that we can size you up for poles and discuss the walk with you. The Go Nordic Walking annual membership subscription is £35.00, due on 1 September, this is pro-rata for new members joining after September.
