🚨 WEEKEND LINEUPS 🚨

Below are how the Wildcats line up for this weekends games where all 3 teams are in action once again.

Captain Hodge and his trusted lieutenant JR were given their first selection headache for a few weeks when picking their team against Dalton, mainly due to a nasty strain of the Dalton flu reemerging and a few lads working shifts resulting in them being available solely for a home game. N Pearson gets the call up after a vital knock of 64 for The Firm™️ last weekend in their win over Lanercost 2nd XI alongside his skipper Rumney, who will fill in as a backstop behind the stumps in the absence of both M Reed and Ray. Manihera makes his long awaited return after his rugby exploits through the winter when he made his debut for Cumbria alongside being a regular in the Wigton RUFC 1st XV.

Hotwheels Liddle has been handed the reigns of the 2nd XI in the absence of both Chief Rumney and Vice Chief Fleming who is away to the Oval watching some second rate cricket for some bizarre reason. He will be buoyed by the inclusions of Thomlinson, Ray and Dixon who would have been in the running for the trip to Dalton if it wasn’t for work commitments. Preston, Jackson, Waning and Gillespie retain their places from Lanercost last weekend with 3rd XI captain Marshall, Bowes and Bellis rounding out the XI.

U15’s training is scheduled for this evening for 18.00pm and all kids are more than welcome to attend whether experienced or new to the game.

🐅 WOMENS TRAINING 🐅

Women’s training is scheduled for tonight up at the club and due to start at 19.00pm.

Training is available to any women or girls who would even just like to see what cricket is like with no prior experience at all needed.

Our women’s team manager Caitlin Ball will be taking most of the sessions unless previously engaged so even if you just have questions please feel free to pop along and have a craic.

Below is the lineup for our Women’s XI friendly tomorrow night up at the club against Carlisle CC.

Following the disappointment of their previous game being called off due to the weather Captain Ball will be pleased to be able to get the majority of that squad a run out. Any support for the ladies would be greatly appreciated if anyone isn’t too rough after the England game tonight that is! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

🦁 SENIOR TRAINING 🦁

Adult training is scheduled for this evening with all details on the below image.

All attendees are asked to arrive and be ready for a 6pm start.

🚨 WEEKEND LINEUPS 🚨

Another decent week for availability which undoubtedly has our skippers in dreamland as they look to return to winning ways after last weekends disappointing results.

Hodgy has been able to include both Little brothers after their galavanting, if Kieran has finished making TikToks that is! Both will add huge firepower to our batting and bowling departments in the game against Cleator CC on Saturday. The remainder of the lineup looks fairly similar with both Reeds, Thomlinson, Johnston, M Hodgson, Pearson and Murdock all continuing in the side and after his 15 minutes of fame in the News & Star even Wilson has decided to grace Lowmoor Road with his presence again!

Rumney after his exploits in the River Vltava will have been thankful he had an easy ride this week and has got to name a very strong side for his clash against Lanercost 2nd XI. Ray makes his first appearance behind the stumps since dropping down from the big leagues alongside the better Thomlinson brother. The rest of the team is made up of seasonal stalwarts apart from the addition of Liddle who has been yo-yoing between the 1st and 2nd XI this season but he will be a huge asset for the Chief as they look to bounce back to winning ways.

Talent Factory Manager James Marshall is in a similiar boat to his counterparts in that the team he can field is probably thee if not one of his strongest sides possible. Chester, Gillespie and Waning are the only ones having to play both Saturday and Sunday which is very rare for a club of our size. Bowes will be bringing up the average age a smidge as the rest of the team in Paterson, Mash*ter, Miller, Hetherington, Warwick and Hodgson are or have just been on our juniors books which highlights the strength of our budding junior sections.

We’d like to thank all of our player sponsors for the season which are also detailed on the lineup posts and it’s great to see so many local people and businesses willing to support a local amateur cricket club!
