I know this first hand…

So many times I reached out to people to help me get back running…

I knew I loved it but I just had no confidence and couldn’t get out to do it…

I tried and as I tried harder it got less and less …which meant running was harder and harder…

People made false promises… said they would help….let me down…

People who I trusted and had a lot of respect for ….

Until one day it clicked… it’s always YOU!

You have to save you…you’re the only one that won’t let yourself down! KEEP YOUR PROMISE.

I STARTED BACK RUNNING - AFTER 5 months off 🙈🏃‍♀️

Fear of reality
Fear of failure
Fear of going backwards

As runners and with social media hype now we all have this “EXPECTATION” that we should always be progressing in our running …

But life happens …. And it did to me …

Now I’m all for the “everyone has an excuse” “we all have s**t going on, some just use it as motivation” - I AGREE

But there are many variables to be considered

For me I flipped my life on its head …. I had made crazy progression in my running … then just felt like I was fighting a loosing battle …

Motivation was on its arse as was energy

I tried for as long as I could to juggle and get the miles in …

Then I had my bloods done and well RED S was upon me ….

But the come back just kept getting put off and off and off …

I ran 1 race in 2025 !!!!! Like WTF!!! I love racing …

But I wasn’t in PB shape , no where near , then I spiralled to the point I STOPPED …

Which I was also upset about …

The reality is - THIS IS WHERE I AM AT NOW … THIS IS MY NEXT CHAPTER … and we should all be doing it to push ourselves if thats what drives us but also to ENJOY IT!!

Yes I have lost a lot of fitness and it’s horrific getting back into running especially after so long off … but to go forward you have to go back …

SO here’s to being fitter , stronger and faster than before (in a good few months of course 🙈😂)

stop overthinking it and just run …

I don’t know about anyone else but for me this was my biggest problem …
Worrying about sessions “what if I can’t do that pace”

Which results in you not doing them at all

Running is supposed to be enjoyable …. Lots of factors can play a part in how you feel on the day

Don’t let your brain tell you otherwise … just go run and smile 😘🫶🏻

When I start something ….

It’s been a hot little minute but this sums me up right now …

Something in my brain has switched …

I’m blocking stress as much as I can and have locked in on something that makes me happy … my running … because for a long time it’s just been at the back of a priority list…

Everyone has been trying to get me to lock in but those that know me best know it’s a pointless battle if my heart isn’t there…

So now … I’m all in and the voices in my head go 🤪

POV To pick something up you have to put something down

So I’m BACKKKKKK …. Back RUNNING …. My favourite thing to do

I listened to say this on a podcast - and it couldn’t of resonated enough with me

I have literally flipped my life on its head (that’s for another reel) but basically for the last 18 months I have been building the life I have dreamt of ….

That has meant learning new skills, coming across new challenges and also doing it at 100 mph …

In turn that comes with a HELLLAAAAA a lot of STRESS!!!

Over that time my running has been at the mercy of this , and as much as I tried to keep going in the background it became impossible.

So temporarily I had to drop it …..

Because I picked something up …. Now that something is in a much more stable place and I can see the rewards from the hard work and sacrifice I put in… I’m able to pick my running back up 😁

Although right now I’m unsure if that was the right choice or if I should of stayed in retirement 😂🙈

Currently plotting a route to find my fitness 😩😂

THE COME BACK - GREATER THAN THE SET BACK 🏃🏼‍♀️💨

🏃🏼‍♀️ I decided a few weeks ago to throw my self into a race to see where I’m at. Yesterday was that day. I kept this very quiet because it’s my first race in 3 months, iv been off running for 8 weeks, had an operation 11 weeks ago and building my runs slowly for 6 weeks

I’m really enjoying the come back, although it’s been hard the last 6 weeks with a busy work schedule and my fitness just disappearing. My heart rate has been high on my runs however my speed has come back faster 🙌🏻 just need to sort my endurance levels out 😂

I was very race rusty yesterday, legs felt great but lungs not so much 😂

The last few months I’d lost that buzz for racing and was just going through the motions with no real aim but yesterday served lots of purposes- the fact I LOVE racing to sorting my race day outfits, the community and how much just I LOVE running !

Iv still a way to go before I’m back fit but this year is going to be a great year 🙌🏻
