Congratulations to the Year 7 team from St Peter's Catholic High School who defeated Deanery High School 38-0 at Wembley on Saturday prior to the Challenge Cup Victories for the Wigan Warriors mens and women’s sides 🍒⚪️🏉

Wigan Warriors men’s side lifted the Challenge Cup for the 22nd time in their 34th Final.

Jack Farrimond lifted the Lance Todd trophy with 2 tries becoming the 18th time a Wigan player has won the award.

Adam Keighrans haul of two tries and six goals culminated in a points total of 20, becoming just the fourth man to score that many points in a Final.

Adam joined Neil Fox (1960, Wakefield Trinity), lestyn Harris (1999, Leeds Rhinos) and Tom Briscoe (2015, Leeds Rhinos).

Jake Wardle made his 100th appearance for the Cherry and Whites and Captain Liam Farrell won his 18th major trophy for the club.

Wigan Warriors Women’s and Men’s sides made history at Wembley becoming the first side to hold both Cups at the same time.

The women side ran out 54-6 victors over St Helens, running in 10 tries in the process.

Jenna Foubister lifted the player of the match award and Eva Hunter tied the record for most tries in a Women’s Challenge Cup Final alongside Tara Jane Stanley (2016) and Claire McGinnis (2013) with 4 tries.

Isabel Rowe equalled last years record for most successful kicks in a Final with 7, becoming the first Women’s player to top 500 points for the club.

New signings Bethan Dainton and Kelsey Gentles both lifted the trophy for the first time.

Alongside the Wigan Warriors Men’s and Women’s sides, St Peter's and Deanery High School will play each other in an all Wigan Schools Final in the Steven Mullaney Memorial Match at Wembley Stadium ahead of the Challenge Cup Finals.

Ahead of the Betfred Challenge Cup Final tomorrow, the RFL confirmed that Shaun Edwards will be chief guest. Shaun enjoyed an iconic playing career with Wigan, winning nine Challenge Cups, including the eight in a row.

Congratulations to Ireland Wheelchair Rugby League side in lifting the Celtic Cup for the third successive year on Saturday with victories over Scotland and Wales.

Wigan Wheelchair players Phil Roberts, Mel Griffith, Oran Spain and Toby Burton-Carter all featured for Ireland.

Wigan Warriors women side warmed up for Wembley with a 74-6 victory over Barrow Raiders.

Anna Davies led the try scoring on the day with 4 and Eva Hunter scored a hat trick on the 50th appearance for the Cherry and Whites.

Wigan now face St Helens in a rematch of last yrs final

Wigan Warriors men’s side warmed up for Wembley with a 62-4 defeat away to Hull KR. Ten debutants were named in the staring 17 ahead of the Wembley Showdown with an average age of just 20.18 years.

Nathan Lowe, Finlay Yeomans, George O’Loughlin, Austin Daniel, Charlie Yeomans, Lewis Daniels, Lukas Mason, Finn McMillan, Shea O’Connor and Kalum Rathbone all played their first games for the club.

Charlie and Finlay Yeomans, became the latest brothers to play for Wigan, debuting in the same game with Nathan Lowe scoring his first try on debut.

One of the strangest stats of the night was that prior to the match the Hull KR starting 17 had more appearances for Wigan (248) than the starting Wigan side had for Wigan (179)

Good luck to the Wigan Warriors Wheelchair players involved in the Wheelchair Celtic Cup this weekend.

Mark Williams and Matt Turner are playing for Wales, with Phil Roberts, Mel Griffith, Oran Spain and Toby Burton-Carter representing Ireland.
