Well… our luck finally ran out today! 😂🌧️

Since Rua started, I think we’ve only had a slight drizzle on one occasion (if my memory serves me right 😅), so I suppose we were overdue a proper taste of the true Caithness weather! 🌧️💨😂
Honestly, I can’t believe how many of you still turned up and braved it 💪😂 We even welcomed a new member!! 👟😁

I don’t think I’m alone in saying the weather actually added an element of fun to our morning… although I’m not sure everyone would agree at the time! 😂😅

Seriously though, what an absolutely amazing and inspirational team we have. Rain, wind or whatever Caithness decides to throw at us, you all show up and smash it! 🏃‍♀️🏃💪

Now… can someone please arrange for a dry week next week? 😂☀️

Who's up for a little social Sunday morning? ☺️👟

No pressure, no pace targets, no expectations.
Our route is a 5K made up of two repeating laps (and a little extra for that home straight 😉), so you can do as much or as little as you like. One lap, two laps, half a lap — some of our members have even been smashing three! 💪

Just come along, enjoy the company, and get moving.

Happy birthday to our PB King, Craig! 🥳🎉

Craig has been with us since the very beginning, and honestly, I have no idea how he keeps doing it... well, actually I do! 😅 His commitment, consistency and hard work are second to none.

Nearly every single week Craig seems to smash out another PB, and his birthday was no exception! 🔥🔥 What a way to celebrate! Bev helped celebrate with a 5k PB and Emma with a distance PB of over 7k!!

As if that wasn't enough, he also turned up with homemade cookies for everyone, which went down an absolute treat 🍪😋

Happiest of birthdays, Craig! We’re absolutely delighted you chose to spend your morning with us. Thank you for being such a huge part of the Rua Running community and for inspiring so many of us along the way 💙

And just as a little reminder... while Craig is absolutely flying on his running journey, Rua Running is for ALL paces. Whether you're chasing PBs, jogging, run-walking or simply coming along for the walk, you'll always be welcome 😊

(Also...if there are more homemade cookies in the future, we certainly won't complain... 👀🍪😂 Hint, hint, Craig! 😅🤣)

It's nearly Sunday again, everyone! How does it come around so quickly? 😅

I hope you've all had a great week and are looking forward to our weekly social run/walk 😁

I know quite a few of our group are away on holiday this week — lucky people! 😊 But hopefully we'll still see plenty of familiar faces joining us, and as always, new faces are always welcome 😁

Turning up in fancy dress is absolutely allowed 🤣 All you have to do is just roll out of bed, turn up, and get those legs moving 👟🔥 I know atleast one who will be opting to walk...😅

A little appreciation post for all the Rua Run Club members ❤️👟

Sunday mornings are so much fun because of every single one of you. Rua Running has never been about pace – it's about getting out, moving together, and supporting each other, whether you run or walk.
That said, I do want to take a moment to say a huge congratulations to everyone who smashed their goals this morning. We had four 5K PBs today, and seeing people achieve what they've been working so hard for is such a special thing to witness 💪🔥

Thank you to everyone who came along today. You are all amazing, inspirational people, and Rua Running Wick is incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic group.

If you've been thinking about joining us, we'd love to see you! We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30am at the Riverside. Whether you're a runner, a walker, a complete beginner, or somewhere in between, you'll be made very welcome.
