🏏 Softball Bash Finals Day - what a day for !

The ladies kicked off finals day with a victory against , setting up a final against .

After giving everything throughout the day the team finished as County Runners Up. While the trophy won’t be coming back to the Belmont this year the women’s squad won where it really matters the most, with frienship, teamwork, laughter and memories that will last longer than the celebratory headaches.

A huge congratulations to every member of the squad who contributed to getting a team into the finals day, plus to all involved in any way with for supporting us behind the scenes.

Finally, our congratulations to Linton Park on winning the trophy 👏

TEAM NEWS IS IN !!!

The Women’s 11 for tomorrow’s two games at is now locked in.

The ladies go up against at 10.30 and dependant on the result of that game will play either a 3/4th play off m, or the final at 2.30pm.

💚💛 support is always welcomed. Go well ladies and bring that 🏆 back to the Belmont.

If you are looking for a fun way to spend your Sunday then Whitstable WCC would love your support this weekend..
We’re at our very first Kent Cricket Foundation finals day and would appreciate all boundary cheers from 💚 and 💛 fans.
We will play Kemsing Cricket Club first up at 10.30am and then in either a 3/4th play off or a final at 2.30.
Let’s hope we can finish this season in style and bring a trophy back to the Belmont 🤞

Whitstable WCC are beyond proud to have won the Kent Cricket Softball Bash League (East Division) and we have secured our place at the Finals Day at Mote Park this weekend !

We’d love it if we had your support on the day, every cheer will help our ladies as we battle to bring the trophy back to the Belmont 🏆

It’s time for one final push, one more time 💪

Head along to Mote Park (ME15 7RN) this Sunday 13th September, we’d love your support 🫶

We’re told pizza will be available aswell - as if you needed any other excuse to come 😂

This weekend the Ladies played a Softball cricket friendly bash on yet another sunny Sunday away at the Mote ☀️🏏

We won the toss and elected to bowl.
The challenge was to attack in the field and get the ball into the keeper.
What’s that? 5 run outs from different fielders… yes please!! 🙌

It was also great to have 9 different bowlers taking the ball and giving it their all. The lovely loopy stuff from Missiles (0-8) and Libby (2-8) were just some of the bowling highlights.

The Mote posted 122 from their 20 overs and we set about the chase facing an extensive leg-side field! The opening partnership from El (18) and Ali (10) was great to watch, with a variety of shots being played around the ground getting us off to a strong start ahead of the required run rate. Tight bowling slowed the run rate but we worked hard to keep running the ones and twos. After the drinks break with a mission to run hard, a wkt fell before Anna (23) and Claire (22 no) took us to the final over needing 9 to win.
It wasn’t quite to be with final over wkts and we fell 2 runs short but what an effort from you all.

Huge thanks to Trev for umpiring and Lucy for scoring, as well as Hannah and Sue S for doing the scoreboard.

🏏 Match report - vs 29th July 2026

🏆 Whitstable CC women won by 35 runs (314-1 to 279-8)

Rodmersham were great hosts, with a mix of players ranging from softball beginners to accomplished 16-under hardballers for this 20-over friendly.

Whitstable won the toss and opted to bowl. Some excellent teamwork in the field and really consistent bowling restricted their better players and earned us regular wickets.

Our pairings batted well with some particularly good running between the wickets, judging the fine balance between risk and opportunity. We defended when needed against their quicker bowlers but got our fair share of boundaries on a sizeable pitch. This allowed us to surpass their score with a good few overs to spare.

🌟 The highlight was an outstanding debut from Freya, who got a wicket off her bowling, found the boundary with the bat and fielded like a natural 👏

☄️ special mention to Curly Sue for one of politest appeals in the history of cricket. It didn’t earn her a wicket but it was very charming!

With thanks to our hosts for their welcome, hospitality, great burgers and complete sportsmanship, looking forward to a return fixture 👏
