We are absolutely overwhelmed to announce that the Hollies 24 Hour Tennisathon 2026 raised an incredible £16,387.29 for Cancer Research UK and DKMS.

But the story doesn’t end there…

Ten years after our original Tennisathon, the combined total raised through our events has now reached an unbelievable…

From everyone who played, volunteered, donated, sponsored, bought raffle tickets, bid in the auction, supported the event or simply helped spread the word — THANK YOU.

What started with an idea has become something far bigger than we could ever have imagined.

We played for Stephen.
We played for Paula.
We played for everyone affected by cancer.

And together…

A fantastic day of tennis at the Centre as we hosted our Men’s Singles Tournament! 🏆🎾

Congratulations to Austin Edwards on being crowned Champion, and well done to Joe Little for finishing as Runner-Up after a great tournament.

Thank you to everyone who took part and made it such a competitive and enjoyable day. It’s always great to see so much quality tennis and sportsmanship on display.

Almost 2 weeks on from the Hollies 24 Hour Tennisathon and we’re still blown away by the incredible support from our players, volunteers, sponsors, donors and community.

While we’re still collecting the final donations and confirming totals, it’s looking like we’ve raised an amazing £16,000+ for Cancer Research UK and DKMS! 🎾❤️

When his dad was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, Pete decided to organise a 24-hour tennis fundraiser to support our life-saving research. Despite going through treatment at the time, his dad Stephen was determined to join in – and the duo helped to raise over £13,000 for us.

Sadly, Stephen died shortly after the event. Since then, Pete's friends and family, alongside members of Hollies Lawn Tennis Club, have continued this incredible legacy, hosting a fundraiser each year in Stephen's memory.

Last weekend marked the 10-year anniversary of their first fundraiser. For the occasion, Pete organised a 24-hour tennis-a-thon at the club, which raised over £15,000.

"We had an incredible day, with the weather, turnout and support," says Pete. "It was so much fun throughout the day, the night and into early hours of the morning."

“I’m sure my dad would be incredibly proud that we’re still doing this in his name,” Pete shared.
