Apologies we have not been active on social media for about a year now. This post is to say thanks and a fond farewell to Jannik and Mieke who have always played volleyball with big smiles and lots of enthusiasm. Both were great volunteers with Esk Valley Community see video link - on which you will see both Mieke and Jannik. Special mention also to Mieke who came to us as a ready made volleyball player and proved to be a mentor for so many who wanted to learn the game. Currently heavy snow falling on top of what we have already had and temperature dropping. Which combines to mean no training tonight stay safe and stay warm.

Training tonight is merged so anyone from 6.30pm group can come at 5.30pm.

Ok - Due to popular requests we will be outside Sunday 26th Oct due to the wind we will be at Castleton play area not the beach. 5pm - 7.30pm we will have three nets up so plenty of court time for everyone. With regards to indoor volleyball on Sundays you will be given time slots this week for when we have to play indoors.

It has been a great summer of volleyball having fun on the beach or on grass. Being outside we have been able to accommodate greater numbers than if we were inside. However now autumn approaches the reality of restricted sessions and times will hit us. There will be some disappointment that training opportunities will be reduced but if we crack on it will be spring before we know it and back outside. What is clear is that things will not be the same as before. First we have sports centres that we did use being used as Covid test centres or hiring out to 5 - a side or other sports instead of volleyball. There is still Covid to plan around and that is having an impact on numbers at sessions. We are doing what we can to set sessions up and no doubt it will be a changing picture over the winter. This Sunday we hope to have an outside session if the rain holds off. News of new training times and places will be posted over the weekend.

Apologies for the late cancelation for this Sundays session at Skinningrove beach. Next week we have two beach volleyball sessions at Skinningrove beach the first on Friday 7.30pm and then Sunday 1st August 5.30pm. Each session is an open one and the cost is only£1.

Big thanks to Fiona, Georgina, Luara and Zach for helping with the coaching at Eskdale school. Next session is Thursday and is the final one as the schools break up for summer this week. Also big thanks to Klara for coordinating transport, Mikka for helping with the coaching and well done Anna on that marathon cycle back and forth from training. Our next open inclusive session is Sunday at Skinningrove beach 5.30pm only £1.

For the volleyball enthusiasts from Eskdale and Caedmon schools there is room for an extra practice on a court supervised by Laura on Friday 16th July at 7.30pm. On Sunday at 5.30pm there is a club open session only £1 per player. Both sessions are at Skinningrove beach. Cattersty Sands is a long, sand and shingle beach between Saltburn and Whitby. Follow the coast road to Loftus and you will find it.
