Barbell bench testing today. 2.5kgs up from last year, this was surprising to me considering I haven’t done them much and when I have, I’ve played it safe and lifted a lot lighter.

I failed on the 4th rep at 45kgs and so I think I’ll easily get that on re-testing in 8 weeks however, the goal is to surpass that!

Let’s get to work!

Next week 98 of us from BFT Welly are heading up to Auckland to compete in Hyrox!

Never have I ever done an event, never thought I would. My doubles partner Jen asked me to join her and after not much thought I figured why the hell not give it a go!

We’ve been training for 12 weeks, both had some minor hiccups with injuries and general life stuff. We’ve since done a full sim and survived and so there’s not much else than to do the dam thing!

This time next week we’ll be on the pain train!

Petuna Chasm hike on Saturday. It took us 3 hours to walk 6km 😆

It’s hard work walking on cobbles through water you know! 💦🤩
