✨Check out this snippet from a session! We’re working on the Essential Reformer Back Rowing: Airplane—a fantastic move for posture, shoulder stability, and core control. Can you spot the moment the correction happens?
🔍In the first few reps, you’ll notice a common strength imbalance: the student’s left arm is sitting slightly lower and isn't pulling with the same engagement as the right. This is totally normal! We all have a "dominant" side that likes to take over.
The Difference a Teacher Makes:
It’s not just about doing the moves; it’s about doing them right. By noticing those tiny misalignments, providing a specific verbal cue and physical adjustment, the student was able to:
✅ Level out their arm height.
✅ Equalise the resistance across both sides.

Celebrating the different shapes our practice takes today. ✨

One of the most powerful things a teacher can say is "honor your body," but that only works if we actually give our students the tools and the space to do it.

We all come to the mat with different skeletal structures, unique injury histories, and varying levels of mobility from the lives we lead outside the studio. In this room, that looks like a beautiful spectrum: from the strength of a headstand or straddle tripod, to the grounding release of Prasarita, to the essential wisdom of Child’s Pose.

Our job isn't to force a "peak" shape, but to educate students on their options and empower them to choose the one that serves them best in this moment. True mastery isn't the deepest inversion; it’s the intuition to know when to fly and when to rest. 🧘‍♂️🙏

I told myself this trip was for rest. I promised no cueing, no correcting, and absolutely no thinking about spinal articulation.
Then I saw the equipment. Suddenly, my “relaxing beach walk” turned into a high-speed hunt for the nearest studio.
Within ten minutes, I was exactly where I belong:
✨ The Barrel Pigeon: Because nothing says “vacation mode” like a deep glute stretch and a side of pelvic stability. If I’m not lengthening my psoas, am I even technically on holiday?
✨ Side Bends: Just a little Vitamin D and a lot of lateral flexion. I’m not just looking at the view; I’m finding my obliques and opening up those intercostals to breathe in the sea air (with full lateral thoracic breathing, obviously).

Think "resting" against the wall is a breeze? Try a Wall Shoulder Stand. 😅 When the floor keeps your spine strictly aligned, your body has nowhere to hide. Add gravity pulling those limbs down, and suddenly that 2-minute hold feels like a test of spiritual endurance!

It’s all fun and games until the 90-second mark hits and those deep, steady breaths become your only personality trait. 💨🏆
