✨ Nearly Halfway Through Jan… and NOT Panicking ✨

We are a couple of weeks into 2026 and if you’re thinking “well… that hasn't quite gone to plan” 👀 — do not worry.

👉 sustainable fitness and healthy habits are built with small tweaks over time, not massive overhauls.

💡 Forget “all or nothing” — think “something is better than nothing.”

Simple, realistic tips to get back on track (without the overwhelm):

✔️ Start with movement, not perfection
A 20–30 minute workout, a walk, or some strength training is enough. Consistency beats intensity every time.

✔️ Focus on one habit at a time
More protein at breakfast. One extra veg at dinner. One extra gym session a week. Stack small wins.

✔️ Build routines that fit YOUR life
If it’s not realistic, it won’t last. Fitness should support your life, not compete with it.

✔️ Stop punishing yourself with food or exercise
Healthy eating isn’t about restriction. Training isn’t about burning off guilt. We train to feel strong, capable and confident 💪

✔️ Progress isn’t linear (and that’s okay)
Some weeks feel great. Some don’t. What matters is showing up again.

📢 Reminder:
“Small changes done consistently lead to big results.”

So if the start of January hasn’t gone perfectly… good news — you’re doing it right 😉
There’s still plenty of time to build a strong life, one small step at a time.

Things to remind yourself of when on a weight loss journey…

🤯It’s not all about your 1 hour workout. You burn more calories in the rest of the day that in your 60 min session. Focus on shaping your body & getting strong in your workouts, not just burning calories.

🤯Scale weight fluctuates on a daily basis, regardless of your diet or how ‘good’ you’ve been (side note: there is no good or bad, just a collection of favourable or less favourable choices). Most of this is down to water retention... you do not put 4lbs on in one day!

🤯When you eat carbs your body retains water to aid digestion. If you suddenly cut down on your carbs the reduction in scale weight will most likely be water loss, not fat loss.

🤯Going over your calories in 1 day doesn’t mean you have taken yourself out of a calorie deficit... you need to focus on the week as a whole in terms of calorie target - this is where you can trip up by eating what you want at the weekends (this can soon add up and take you out of your deficit for the whole week).

🤯Weight (Fat) loss happens from being in a calorie deficit over a period of time. There are no quick fixes, just consistent actions that will get you where you want to be. You need to give it 4-8 weeks to see real sustainable change.. not a week! patience and perseverance are key!

Little PSA... Don't let anybody else's journey dictate yours 🫶🏼

If you have a goal going into this Festive Season that’s great... it’s also great if you don’t, and it’s also totally fine if sh*t happens and things don’t go to plan!

Don’t worry about what’s out of your control, just focus on what you can do, when you can do it.

Give yourself the opportunity to rest, spend time with loved ones and have a little fun! 😊

🧠🌍 World Mental Health Day - Move Your Body, Strengthen Your Mind!

Today is World Mental Health Day, and it’s a really good opportunity to remind ourselves that taking care of our mental well-being is just as important as our physical health 💪✨.

We are often juggling so many roles and responsibilities both at work and at home, and it’s easy to put our own needs on the back burner.
That’s why prioritising regular exercise is not just about toning up or weight loss — it’s about boosting your mind and overall resilience too!

🧠 The Mind-Body Connection 🧠 Exercise is one of the most powerful tools we have to improve mental health. Here’s how moving your body can benefit your mind:
• Reduces Stress & Anxiety: Physical activity lowers stress hormones like cortisol and increases endorphins — your brain's feel-good chemicals — leaving you feeling more relaxed and in control.
• Improves Mood: Regular workouts stimulate the production of serotonin and dopamine, which are known to enhance mood and reduce feelings of depression. It’s like a natural antidepressant without the side effects!
• Enhances Focus & Mental Clarity: Exercise boosts blood flow to the brain, helping you think more clearly and stay focused. A quick 30-minute session can give you that productivity boost you need for the day.
• Builds Mental Resilience: When life gets tough, even a short workout can remind you that you are strong and capable of pushing through challenges.

I know that some days are harder than others. On those days, especially on those days, showing up for even a short walk, a few stretches, or a quick strength routine can make a massive difference... we start to release that emotional build-up and feel lighter, stronger, and more in control.

Taking care of your body and mind is not selfish; it’s self-care. 💜

"Your body hears everything your mind says. Train it to be strong, train it to be kind." 💫

🐍 Stretching: The Secret Sauce to Better Workouts! 🐱-🐮

“Progress isn’t just about lifting heavier; it’s about staying mobile and injury-free too.”

Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or already smashing your goals, there's one crucial step you should never skip—STRETCHING! 🙌 It’s not just an extra step to slow you down, it’s essential for your progress and long-term health.

✨ Why Stretch? 🤔 Prepping your muscles before a workout and taking time to stretch after helps with flexibility, prevents injuries, and speeds up recovery. Stretching increases blood flow to those hard-working muscles, Plus, it reduces soreness so you can actually walk the next day. Win-win

Basic Stretches to Get You Started:
1. Cat-Cow Stretch 🐱🐮 (perfect for loosening up your spine and core)
2. Cobra Stretch 🐍 (great for opening up your chest and improving posture)
3. Hamstring Stretch 🦵 (ease tension in your lower back and legs)
4. Hip Flexor Stretch (relieve tight hips from too much sitting!)
5. Glute Stretch 🍑 (target those buns for better mobility and power)

Taking just 5-10 minutes to stretch can make ALL the difference in how you feel post-workout. Stretching = happy muscles = better results! 💃

So, the next time you're tempted to skip it, remember:
“A flexible body is a strong body.” 🌟 Your future self will thank you!

🏋🏼‍♀️ “Strong women lift each other up… and we also lift dumbbells too!” 🏋🏼‍♀️

Whether you're just starting or you've been working out for a while, you 100% should have strength training as part of your routine - this is one of the best decisions we all can make... and no, you won’t end up looking like a bodybuilder (unless that's your goal, then go for it!).

You will however become stronger, fitter, and more confident. Here’s why you should start strength training NOW and some tips to get you going!

🔥 Why Strength Training?
First of all, lifting weights isn’t just about building muscles, it's about building a body that can look after us longer term... ageing well and ensuring we stay as independent as possible for as long as possible! It also - Increases metabolism, Strengthens bones, Maintains muscle mass, Improves posture, Enhances functional strength, Boosts mood & self-esteem, Promotes mental toughness, the list goes on!

🌟 Tips to Get Started
Start light: Don’t be afraid to begin with lighter weights. Focus on good form, and slowly build up your strength.
Work the basics: Stick with compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and push-ups. These exercises work multiple muscles at once—efficiency, baby!
Don’t forget recovery: Strength training breaks down muscles so they can rebuild stronger. Make sure you get enough rest and protein for recovery.
Consistency over intensity: You don’t need to lift the heaviest weights every session. Just show up, do your best, and watch the results come over time.

Strength Training isn't a quick fix or a phase - it's a lifestyle that once you start you don't stop.
My advice - Get started as soon as you can, in whatever way you can... you'll be glad that you did💥
