Cornforth United A.F.C We are a new U12 community football club, here in West Cornforth. To the Cornforth miners wheel and cart. We hope we make the name a success again!

Our badge incorporates the villages history from the star, which was used by the Balaclava Football Club, a pub team from the Balaclava Inn in West Cornforth that played in the local leagues, likely in the mid-20th century and is part of the local football history of the village. Yes, that miners wheel and cart on our badge is taken from Google Maps right outside the Cornforth Community Centre whe

re our team will train and play matches against others. Also another way of representing the village is taking the name of the Cornforth United AFC from the past to the present. The picture on our cover banner is that of Cornforth United AFC, winning the Durham Hospital & Wingate Charity Cups 1913-14. Our team is about the community and giving our children a fun place not to just learn football techniques, but also to learn valuable life lessons and forge lifelong friendships.

Volunteering to play out of position, Harley stepped up for the team and delivered brilliantly. He showed incredible adaptability, determination and skill, grabbing a goal and an assist.

His willingness to embrace a new role, combined with his work rate and positive attitude made a real difference on the pitch.

What a fantastic win tonight! 👏

So proud of every single one of the kids – the teamwork out there was brilliant to see. You can really tell how much this squad is coming together, supporting each other and playing as a team.

A huge congratulations to our latest HMH Civils Limited Players of the Match, Layton and Maddison! 👏

Layton earned the award on Tuesday after a sensational debut performance, scoring an incredible six goals and helping the club secure its first-ever victory over Wearside FC. His pace, power and clinical finishing proved too much for the opposition and made an immediate impact on the team.

Maddison picked up the award on Saturday following an outstanding display against Consett Blackfyne Jaguars. Maddison was excellent defensively throughout, showed tremendous energy to support attacks up the pitch and capped off her performance by finding the net for the second consecutive game.

Well done to both Layton and Maddison! Your hard work, commitment and performances are making a huge difference to the team. You are both important members of the squad and we look forward to seeing many more great moments from you in the future! ⭐️

Massive well done to all the kids today — what an effort!

They worked their socks off from start to finish. After a really tough start, they showed incredible determination, teamwork and character to turn it around and come out as deserved 9-5 winners in only their third game together!

So proud of every single one of them — a brilliant performance. Can’t wait to see how we keep building on this! 💪

At our club it’s about much more than football. We love celebrating our players both on and off the pitch, and it’s always great to see the smiles when they receive their birthday gifts from the team.

The HMH Civils Limited Player of the Match goes to Oliver for a standout performance against Belmont Falcons 👏

From the first whistle to the last, Oliver showed incredible commitment, determination, and work rate all over the pitch. His defending was outstanding, putting his body on the line for the team and constantly encouraging his teammates throughout the game.

His positive attitude and leadership helped drive the team forward and his energy, support for others and willingness to work hard for every ball truly made a real difference today 💪

Another really positive evening for our club as we played our second ever match last night against Belmont Falcons 👏

The improvement from the team all over the pitch was fantastic to see. From start to finish, the players showed great determination, teamwork and communication, with real glimpses of the strong team we know they can become 💙🩵

Every player worked incredibly hard and continued to represent the club with pride and a brilliant attitude throughout. The progress already being made by this group is something everyone involved should be proud of 👏

A special mention must go to Macy for scoring an absolutely brilliant goal ⚽👏 A fantastic moment and fully deserved.

We would also like to thank Belmont United Falcons for stepping in at short notice and making it a great game. We will see you again at your place in July 👏

Finally, a huge thank you to Turnbull’s FC Clothing for providing our kits which the team proudly wore for the first time last night. The players looked fantastic and we are incredibly grateful for your support of the club 💙

Yesterday I had the pleasure of watching this amazing bunch play a friendly match ⚽️

They were absolutely buzzing to wear their new kits for the first time — and they looked incredible! 🙌

The result didn’t go our way, finishing 6–2 to the opposition, but honestly, you’d never know this was only their second game together as a team. The effort, teamwork and determination they showed was brilliant to watch, and they should all be so proud of themselves 💙

Please could everyone give this new club a like, share and some support. Alongside sponsoring the team, I’m working closely with the club to help expand the age groups and support future fundraising opportunities.
I’ve been part of this community my whole life, and like many football parents, I’ve stood on the sidelines through the rain, hail and blazing sunshine cheering my son on every week! ☀️🌧️

Let’s come together as a community and help build something positive for the children of West Cornforth and the surrounding areas — giving them opportunities, hobbies, friendships and a club they can be proud of.

At just 14 years old, Kyle has taken the step into refereeing, which is absolutely amazing to see. He’s also been a lifelong customer of mine, so it makes me even prouder watching him get involved in grassroots football at such a young age. Refereeing opens up so many opportunities for him while also helping support the club and local football. Keep smashing it, Kyle — you should be really proud of yourself! 🙌
