Trophy Event 2 of the season completed!

Another great return from the Ducks. Runners Up in our trophy event tournament and all the players got their hands on more medals.

At their age it’s all about playing for fun and development but it certainly helps to win a few things along the way, it’s a rewards for their hard work and dedication and it’s more than deserved.

Today they got to enjoy their achievement with their Parents whose support and backing is critical to helping us develop.

Always a tough one with the Ducks.

Most of them only 6 years old still, still been together as a team less than a year and still finding their feet and place in this mad old world of football.

What I do notice is that every week, one of the kids produces a real moment of magic, a piece of quality and an important play in the match.

Player of the match is a tough choice each and every single week. But to see the reactions of them when they get it and how happy they are despite the result. It’s what weekends are made for!

So we finished second in Group 2 of the first trophy event of the season, so the kids bagged their first medals.

Considering we are a new team and have only all been together since July to be considered a mid level team shows how far they have come in a small amount of time. The level of improvement of those 8 weeks as been there for all to see and all that hard work as paid off with them winning something today.

These kids are going places because Ducks Fly together!!

As starts go, brilliant! So the first trophy event of the season is up and running and despite the mix up in kick of times and watching the players run on to pitch 1 by 1, they smashed it!

Big 8-0 win followed by an even more impressive 2-0 battle. Top of the league? Maybe but the way these kids played today was awesome!

Onwards and upwards as the Ducks fly together!

There are some seriously tired kids here. But what a few weeks for our little ducklings.

Won 2 and Lost 4 in the WJFL U7s Round Robin and we’re in Group D for our first trophy event of the season.

The results don’t reflect the improvement in these kids though and all those losses were by only 1 goal. Definitely getting better and better each week.

Bustleholme Ducks U7s. We started our football journey this weekend at the Silverdale Tournament and what an experience it was for all our littles ones.

Never played a game before and they come out shining. A few bumps along the way, mostly to the other teams from our rough and ready ducks but a big 3-0 win certainly gave us a reason to shout about.

Highlight of the day? Seeing how much it meant to them to receive a medal at the end of the day!!

We are the ducks, and ducks fly together!
