Wells City Harriers is a friendly running club located in Wells & Street in Somerset. All abilities welcome. Join the Club to benefit and play your part!

Wells City Harriers encourages athletes of all ages and abilities to train and compete for us. We offer athletic competition at all disciplines - road, multi-terrain, fell-running, track and field, cross-country, from local events through to regional and national level competition. Wells City Harriers are affiliated to the Somerset County Athletics Association, and through affiliation to England A

thletics we have the appropriate insurances and policies in places to run a club of our nature and size. Details of our qualified coaching staff and training groups can be found on the Harrier website; alongside news on team competitions. We also affiliate every year to the South of England Athletic Association as a competition provider in order to compete as individuals or with teams in Southern regional Championships.

The Harriers have been out and about enjoying some fantastic Parkruns in recent weeks:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Tim has been to a cool and overcast Thurso Parkrun before heading to a windy and damp Kirkwall Parkrun, both in Scotland.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Jon and Kathy picked up an ‘R’ on a beautiful morning at Riverfront Parkrun in Newport before celebrating Jon’s 200th Parkrun with fellow Harriers at local favourite Shepton Mallet.

🎓 Natalie and Sean ticked off a rare ‘U’ at University Parks, Oxford.

🌧️ Helen ran with her sister at a very rainy Malling Rec in East Sussex.

🏃 Jeremy was at local haunt Street Parkrun while a group of Harriers ran at flat and fast Five Arches Parkrun.

Summer time, think it was June? Was this The One for a PB?

Some awesome running from the Harriers at the June edition of the Yeovilton 5K Series, with a handful of PBs.

This Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June) we’re celebrating our incredible volunteers who generously give up their time and energy to help others! 🌟

Wells City Harriers is entirely run by volunteers so we rely on our members to help out regularly.

There’s plenty of ways to get involved - from coaching to administrative support, or simply marshalling a couple of times a year at Harrier-supported races. No contribution is too big or too small!

We’d love to see more women involved, particularly to train our junior athletes on a Monday night. The club will pay for your coaching if you can commit to contributing to regular sessions.

The Harriers were back out on track yesterday at the Yeovil Evening Open 1. Thanks to who always put on a great event!

Lots of track debutants and PBs.

At our AGM last night we announced this year’s Annual Club Awards which recognise outstanding achievements and contributions.

Come join us for Tuesday training at Millfield Athletic Track.

When: Tuesday start 6.30pm and finish 7.30pm
Who: Juniors aged 14 upwards and seniors
Where: Millfield Track, Street

Each session costs £2.50 or £20 per quarter.

Never been before? When you arrive please introduce yourself to one of the coaches: Jon, Graham, or Alex.

Not a member? After making an enquiry about our training sessions and registering your contact details, you can attend two sessions for free to check out if the coaching/training is what you need/want.
