ACU race report from Darley Moor last Sunday

well done David!

Darley Moor hosted the 1st round of the ACU Ultra Lightweight Championship last Sunday. The ACU Ultra Lightweights had the honour of kicking off the Darley Moor 2026 season being the first class to race.

We might of been quite on here but we are flat out behind the scenes
Testing is going to plan and David Degroot got his first go on the revamped zxr400 and managed a new pb around Mallory on lap 3 of him swinging his leg over it
And is slowly get more comfortable on the 636
We still have 2 more track days before the season kicks off so hopefully we can hit the ground running

We also still have all are new and amazing sponsors to be announced so watch this space

7am it’s Mallory Park and we are here for its first test of the month with David Degroot piloting the 6R to shake it down for 2026.

It’s freezing cold and between rain and sleet, we both have driven thru snow to get here

David’s in for a surprise when he opens this little beastie, oodles of effort less power no ABS or traction control, a proper riders bike; I used to love riding it. David's reaction "Jim, that engine?, its awesome!"

Interesting day ahead for sure but an even better season ahead with David Riding my ZXR400, ZX6R and Alan Naul 's YZ85.

Its going to be a good year I think

Next Sunday we are testing at Brands Hatch

🏁 Jim Dalton Racing – 2026 Season Announcement

We’re proud to announce that following an outstanding 2025 season — including a strong 2nd place finish in the EMRA F400 Championship — David DeGroot will continue to ride for Jim Dalton Racing in 2026.

As a result of his hard work, dedication, and impressive results, we’ve invited David to step up and compete in an additional class for the new season. Alongside our Kawasaki ZXR400 F400 entry, David will also campaign our Kawasaki ZX6R Supersport in the 2026 EMRA Championships, marking an exciting step forward as we expand into a two-bike team.

In addition, David will take part in selected rounds of the ACU Ultralightweight British Championship with RLT Racing, competing on their Yamaha 85cc.

The zxr400 pre season preparations is well underway with the suspension been sent to SITRAmoto for there full factory set up
