Again, I admit I am rubbish at social media updates.
Last post was Qatar in December...
So....
January was assisting the UK project Forensics for Albania, which saw me there for a week.
What a lovely place, go now before it gets too westernised.
February was over to St Lucia for a foundation (basic) fingerprint course and tomorrow (5/4/2024) sees me out to St Lucia again to assist with the creation of their own new Fingerprint Bureau.
I don't have enough days allocated to see it through to fruition, but the groundwork for it will have started and the SOP's written etc.
So that's it, you are all up to speed.
The next financial year may see me back in Albania, Malta and Djibouti.
Watch this space, admittedly it could be boring for a long while, but I promise to try to improve.

Currently sat at Gate 5, T4 of LHR, tomorrow sees the start of Fingerprint Development training for the Qatari Police.
I think it's going to be a good week.

First post in a long time, told you I was rubbish about this.

Pleased to announce that I will be off to Albania next month to audit/help their bureau and chemical lab.

Might just be for the week. Or it may lead to bigger things.

I fear I am failing on this whole social media business as 2 posts a year is fairly rubbish. But in my defence it has been a busy year. So in summary....
During 2022, I have totalled up the following:

8 Countries worked in (other than the UK)
26,215 miles traveled.
12 weeks away from home.
24 airport departure and arrival terminals.
30 UK Defence Case Reviews
10 weeks spent on projects for people.

Next year will go one of two ways, either working my little socks off, or get used to retirement.
I do hope it's the former.....

But it was like a tardis, you could fit loads in there
And if you wished to go faster than 30, you simply took the handbrake off.

Sorry if i have been quiet.

In the last 48 weeks, i have:

Been away for 21 weeks

Been to 10 Countries (well 11, if you count two trips to Malta)

Been through 45 departure or arrivals terminals

Travelled approximately 36,625 miles

All work related.

Wow, did not realise it was July 2020 that i last posted.

Where on earth has that time gone.

Well, since Mali, i had 2 one month (almost back to back) sessions working with the Maltese Police fingerprint department, what a lovely bunch of professional people.

Following that I went to Doha for a week to deliver some specialist camera system training, and now currently in Switzerland delivering enhanced camera skills training.

If i forget to post again for a while, i am due to be in Latvia in February.

Day 1 in Mali, just installed an Afis onto 8 networked pc's and laptops. A long day.
Tomorrow we start training.
Early start, but I can't wait!

1st malaria tablet taken this morning and i got my negative pcr test result this afternoon, so it looks like my first overseas work trip for many months is on after all.

Mali on Sunday then.

Exceptionally lucky to have training quote requests out for Trinidad, Malta,Malawi, Mali and Surrey.
Plus an enquiry today from Qatar.
Hopefully one or more may turn onto a reality.

It seems that I have neglected this page, for that, I apologise and will try to do better in the future.
This damned virus killed my overseas training work and put a big slow down on my UK Defence Case Reviews, but it would seem that maybe this is ending as I currently have quotes out for training for two different countries and the case review side is getting busier.
