Tomorrow I am hosting 13 women on a weekend yoga retreat.
As I sit here this morning, carefully reviewing every detail, checking lists one last time and making sure everything is ready, I'm struck by what a privilege this is. Time is one of the most precious things any of us has. The fact that 13 women have chosen to spend some of theirs with me this weekend feels both humbling and deeply meaningful.
In a world that encourages us to keep going, keep achieving and keep giving to everyone else, they've chosen to spend a weekend exploring what it means to rest. To slow down. To listen. To make space for themselves without needing to earn it.
Over the coming days we'll move, breathe, reflect, laugh, eat together, spend time in nature and, I hope, discover that rest isn't something we have to deserve. It's something we need.
I know they'll each arrive carrying their own stories, worries and hopes. My role isn't to take those away. It's simply to create a space where they might feel safe enough to put some of them down for a little while. I don't take that responsibility lightly.
This morning I'm feeling equal parts excitement, gratitude and anticipation, and I cannot wait to welcome them tomorrow.
