The Y9 squad have had a couple of fixtures this week against tough opposition. Firstly losing to Colfe’s on Monday after setting a respectable target of 115. Colfe’s had an extrememly strong batting squad. Today the result was a narrow defeat to Hurstmere whilst trying to defend a total of 82. Hurstmere got it with 7 balls to go.
Well done for a competitive week and there are plenty of positives to take from these performances!

The u12 cricket team’s run in the Kent cup came to an end in the quarter finals today, following a narrow defeat to Langley Park schools for boys. The boys weren’t able to defend a total that was probably a few runs under par, but it was a good effort.

The Year 8 cricket team welcomed a well drilled Hurstmere team this afternoon in the Bexley league. Buoyed by their last game against Chis & Sid where they played some of their best cricket we went in with the same game plan. Some good communication and a solid bat from Ashwin (27 not out) saw us post 94/5. After the change we went on the attack keeping our bowling tight and managed to clinch a 17 run win!! Great effort from all involved!

A huge well done to Tanvi, James, Yashwin and Kovendhan; who combined as part of the Bexley Badminton team in the London Youth Games this weekend. The team won Bexley’s first ever badminton gold medal, beating Ealing in the final after a full day of competition against all the other London boroughs. We’re very proud to have such a big BGS contingent in the team.

Congratulations to Will (yr12) who was selected to act as 12th man for England Lions in their match vs South Africa last week. Will was chosen by Kent to support the England squad for the match, which is a significant achievement and a brilliant experience. It won’t be long until he’s in the squad for real, we hope.
