AND THATS A WRAP ON OUR FIRST EVER SEASON TOGETHER 💛🖤

Just over a year ago we set this team up from scratch, we wanted to create a space that welcomed everyone, your first time trying ladies football or your return after years out of the game, they can both be pretty scary!
We wanted to create a space for ladies to be able to just have fun and have a place where we support eachother, I am proud to say that is exactly what we created.

There has been ups and downs and a few things havent always gone our way, but we pushed through togegher as a team.

we started in the winter just meeting in parks as a small group of women, we had no idea how we were going to make this work so I want to say a huge thankyou to Kineton Sports & Social Club for welcoming us in and letting us be a team under your name and giving us a space to play and grow.
A massive thankyou to Paddy Strong for taking us under your wing, without you we wouldnt have had a coach for the season 👏.

Thankyou to Paul Surridge at target leadership consulting who sponsored us at the very start and helped us fund a kit.

A massive thankyou to Kate Cotter (the mum of the team) who made it all possible for finding us somewhere that would take us on board.

And thankyou to everyone who supported us throughout our first ever season together we couldnt be more proud of what we achieved, the ladies came away from every single game with a smile on their face and their heads held high no matter what they faced in each game and that is exactly what we wanted to create.

Our final awards for this season got to.. Ella who was Players Player today, battled hard, adapting well to the loss of a forward player early on in the game. She worked hard running up and down the pitch, skilling opponents and making some key passes and crosses into the box, with some brilliant attempts on goal herself. A huge well done…we’d like to see it more regularly next season 👀

Our Manager’s Player was our captain, Meryl, who was all over the pitch, wherever needed, she appeared. She supported in defence, making key blocks, but also played an integral role in the attacking half, coming out with an assist, and many more accolades to support her achievement of Manager’s Player. An absolute powerhouse of a player and came out today with a vengeance.

Players Player today was our lovely Paige, who made touch after touch and sprint after sprint in the game today, an unbelievable goal to break the 2-2 scoreline and lead us to our victory. Part time footballer, full time legend.
Unfortunately we are still missing a trophy so the awards are getting more and more creative 🤣🤣

Great game today for the ladies with a 4-0 victory against godiva who are always a pleasure to play against, they are always such a nice friendly team and are out having fun just like us!

Todays trophies go to..
Our Players Player was Lexi for battling hard, taking players on, chasing the ball down and even taking some shots on goal. Lexi has shown a real growth in confidence which was evident on the pitch today.

Managers Player went to Sarah for working hard throughout midfield, reading the game well, taking on player after player and supporting her teammates. She finished the game with 2 assists and a well deserved and long awaited goal after a number of very close attempts!

We finish today with a 4-0 win and a great boost for the team 💛🖤
