🏁🏆 Croft Race Report 🏆🏁
! MY FIRST PODIUM ! 🏆🥳
Well, What a weekend this was!!!
QUALIFYING: Was a Greasy Qualifying, we had some pretty good pace in the grease where every lap was different and the track was getting grippier and grippier as time went on. In the end, I qualified P5, which I’ve never been close to before so this was an amazing quali result for me! 👌
RACE 1: The track was completely dry for race 1 which was a good turn out 👍, I had a really good start in which I could of gained 2 positions but I got sandwiched so had to back out of it, into turn 1 I was still P5, I ended up in a strong place to where I could keep my position and try to push for more places, I had a really hard race with some very good battles in between, working hard I made my way up into P2 by the end of the race in which 1 position was gained due to a teammate having a gearbox issue. Another position was gained due to me going up the inside of Max Martin and having a little bit of contact which I’m very sorry about 🤝. By the end of the race I managed to stay in P2 and secure my very first Podium, this was a very emotional moment for me and everyone around me, I couldn’t of got this podium without having an amazing team of people around me that were willing to help me get to this point, thanks to my mum Sasha Yates Buckley, my step dad Lee, Nimbus Motorsport Danny Hobson and my mechanic Stephen Heath for everything you’ve done for me ❤️🏁🏆. This Podium Meant Everything to me! 🏆
RACE 2: I started in P2 for this race, I managed to get a decent start but dropped a place into turn 1 making me P3, keeping P3 for a few laps I then lost out another 2 places putting me in a comfortable P5, a few laps later, on the exit of the Chicane my passenger side Shocker gave up and sent me straight into the grass on the inside. This was our Race 2 over which wasn’t an ideal way to continue from a Podium. 🙂↕️
RACE 3: Because of our DNF in race 2, I had to start from the back of the grid, we had a decent start but didnt gain any positions into turn 1, the car didn’t feel great in this race as it would turn left happily but would struggle to turn right, we managed to make our way into P9 and then again a few laps later, my drivers shocker failed this time sending me off again nearly into the barrier. This was an end to our weekend but we forget about it and move onto the next round at Pembrey. 😁
Overall this was an amazing weekend, getting P2 in the first race of the season and my first ever podium. Last year I didn’t even come close to making the top 10, so getting P2 really meant a lot to me. 🏆🥳
