Area 13 Dressage and Showjumping Area Qualifiers at Coombelands
Day 1: Regional SJ & National Dressage Qualifiers
Our Dressage Divas kicked off the weekend in style. The warm-up tests proved to be an excellent exercise, with Sophie & Odin winning their test and Maddie & Dora finishing a close second in theirs.
In the Novice, the HHN riders put in some superb performances. The team of Jessica, Lara, Eva, and Maddie finished an impressive 3rd, just narrowly missing a team ticket to Nationals. However, Eva & Beanie secured a fabulous 2nd place in their arena to qualify for Nationals as an individual. There were also individual frillies for Jessica & Lucky (6th), and Lara on both Seamus (7th) and Henry (8th).
As the temperatures soared, our Intermediate teams gave it everything. The HHN Moons (Sophie, Lara, and Lauren C on Rev) secured team 6th, with Sophie placing 2nd individually to punch her ticket to Nationals. Meanwhile, the HHN Comets (Amelie, Eva, Lauren B, and Lauren C on Joey) rode a storm to WIN the team competition and qualify for Nationals! Additional individual shout-outs go to Lauren C & Joey in 3rd, Amelie & Shrimpy in 4th, and Lauren B & Pasha in 5th.
Rounding out the day, our Open riders (Lauren B, Lauren C on Rev, Amelie, and Sophie) delivered a fantastic performance to finish team 3rd and qualify for Nationals! Individually, Lauren C on Rev took 4th, Lauren B on Pasha took 5th, and Lauren C on Joey placed 8th, securing another individual qualification.
Over in the Regional 70 Showjumping, the team set the standard high. Ellisia-May and Olivia both jumped spectacular double clears, while Grace bounced back from 8 faults in the first round to ride a brilliant clear in the second. The team finished 8th overall, with Ellisia-May clocking a blazing fast time to place 2nd individually. Maddie also had a brilliant day with her young mare in the 70+ class, picking up just a single pole in the jump-off to finish 2nd and qualify.
Day 2: National SJ & Regional Dressage
On Sunday, it was the turn of our National SJ teams and Regional Dressage riders. Olivia and Tulip flew the flag solo for us in the Grassroots, and they certainly made it count! They finished 2nd in their arena and 2nd as part of a mixed team to qualify for the Regional Championships. With this result, Olivia has incredibly now qualified for the Championships in all three disciplines!
The HHN 90 Showjumping team of Sienna R, Eva R, Amelie B, and Lara W fought hard to finish 5th. While they missed out on a team ticket this time, individual rider Holly P shone as our highest-placed rider, finishing 3rd in a mixed area team to qualify for Nationals.
Next up, the 100 team of Eva R, Lauren B, Bella L, and Lauren C put on a brilliant display to finish team 2nd and qualify for Nationals. They backed this up with fantastic individual results: Eva R in 2nd, Lauren B in 5th, and Bella L in 9th.
Last to go were the 110 jumpers, where Lauren B rode two brilliant rounds to finish 6th on Rev and 7th on Pasha, successfully qualifying both for Nationals.
