A little update on why you cannot currently book a lake swim. Unfortunately we have some algae in the lake which could cause stomach upset or skin irritation. We noticed this on Wednesday and stopped the session then while we took advice. We will keep the lake closed until no visible signs are on the water and will do another water test at that time. We will look again on Wednesday as that will be a week from the first sighting of it and if we can see no signs we will send a test off to the lab for analysis. Therefore there will be no swimming for the next ten days at least. We will post an update as soon as possible

Due to the total solar eclipse on Wednesday we have taken the decision to cancel the 6pm session. As the eclipse is due to start around 6pm the visibility will be much reduced and the lifeguards may not be able to properly spot swimmers. We cannot allow any risk to our swimmers and so will just run the 5pm session.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about the safety of inland waterways in these current high temperatures. We take your safety very seriously and so test our lake water regularly once temperatures climb into the zone where nasty bacteria and algae can develop. We have just had the latest results back and everything is well within the safe range. Coupled with the fact that the w**d has now died back a lot and it is less like swimming in an underwater forest - what’s not to like?!

Slots available on both 5pm and 6pm currently.

Morning all! It’s going to be a warm one again tomorrow but the sunshine should not be as strong before 10am even though the water will likely still be as hot. We are NOT implementing a wetsuit ban however we do recommend that you swim skins if possible for your own comfort.

As temperatures are still going to be in the 30’s for both our sessions tonight we are implementing a wetsuit ban in the interest of your safety. The risk of heatstroke will be very high due to the colour and material used in wetsuits and the water itself will be very warm and pleasant for non wetsuit swimming. Anyone already booked will be contacted and given the option to cancel if they are not confident to swim without a wetsuit.

As always your safety is our priority
