As temperatures are still going to be in the 30’s for both our sessions tonight we are implementing a wetsuit ban in the interest of your safety. The risk of heatstroke will be very high due to the colour and material used in wetsuits and the water itself will be very warm and pleasant for non wetsuit swimming. Anyone already booked will be contacted and given the option to cancel if they are not confident to swim without a wetsuit.

The 13th to 20th June is Drowning Prevention Week and the Royal Life Saving Society have lots of resources avaliable.

Remember that cold water shock can happen to anyone, even on a warm day. Your instinct might be to panic, but try to remember the Water Safety Code: Stay calm, float on your back and call for help.

🛟 Tilt your head back and keep your airway clear
🫁 Relax and focus on your breathing
🌊 Spread your arms and legs to stay balanced
🤲 Gently move your hands if needed
📞 Once calm, signal for help or swim to safety

If someone else is in trouble, don’t go in. Throw them something that floats.
