✨ New signs day at WGC! ✨

We’ve been busy making a few improvements outside the gym, and today our new signage went up! 👏

From our large front-facing Wantage Gymnastics Centre sign, to new entrance branding and child safety signage around the site, we’re continuing to make the gym easier to find, safer for our members, and more professional for everyone who visits.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping bring the finishing touches to our new home. It’s amazing to see the facility continuing to take shape and look more like the permanent home WGC deserves. 💙

If you’re visiting us, please remember to take extra care in the car park and surrounding areas, especially as we have lots of children arriving and leaving throughout the day.

🏆🤸‍♀️ CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS WEEKEND IS HERE! 🤸‍♂️🏆

The gym is all set and ready for one of the biggest weekends in Wantage Gymnastics Centre’s history! 🎉

This weekend, over 270 gymnasts will take to the floor, beam, bars, vault and fast track to showcase everything they have been working on throughout the year. From our Pre-School gymnasts demonstrating their circuits, through to our squad gymnasts performing their routines, it’s set to be an incredible celebration of gymnastics.

A huge thank you to all of our coaches, judges, volunteers and parents who have helped make this event possible. Your support behind the scenes is what makes weekends like this happen. 💙

To every gymnast competing this weekend – be proud of how far you’ve come, believe in yourself, and most importantly, enjoy every moment! 🌟

Good luck everyone – we can’t wait to see the gym buzzing with excitement, smiles and personal best performances all weekend long!

🌟 Preschool Circuits – People Who Help Us! 🚒🚑👮‍♀️👷‍♂️

This week in our Preschool classes we're exploring our exciting "People Who Help Us" themed circuits!

Our little gymnasts will be:
🚒 Rescuing cats as Firefighters
🚑 Flying Air Ambulance missions
👮 Showing off their badges as Police Officers
🌱 Harvesting vegetables as Farmers
🏗️ Building houses as Builders
🚤 Saving the day with the RNLI
📮 Delivering letters as Postmen
🛟 Rescuing teddies as Lifeguards

Each circuit has been carefully designed to develop balance, coordination, strength, agility and imagination whilst having lots of fun along the way!

At Wantage Gymnastics Centre, we love combining physical development with imaginative play, helping children build confidence, social skills and a love of movement from an early age.

Another fantastic month for our Squad gymnasts! 💙🤸‍♀️

Whilst May didn’t bring any competitions, it has been a busy month of hard work, skill development and preparation as we start looking ahead to a number of friendly competitions coming up in June.

We were also delighted to host the first Oxfordshire County Training Event at Wantage Gymnastics Centre. The day brought gymnasts from across the county together for a fantastic opportunity to train, learn and share experiences with one another, helping to strengthen gymnastics across Oxfordshire.

Our squad programme continues to grow, with both our Infants and Tiddlers squads welcoming new gymnasts and going from strength to strength. It’s exciting to see so many young gymnasts starting their squad journey and developing a love for the sport.

A huge well done to all of our gymnasts and coaches for their dedication and effort throughout the month. We can’t wait to see what June brings! 💪✨

🌊🐠 SEA ANIMALS ADVENTURE WEEK 🐬🦀

Our Pre-School gymnasts are diving under the sea for the next TWO weeks as we transform the gym into a Sea Animals adventure! 🌊✨

This week and next, the children will explore our:
🤸 Vault
🤸‍♀️ Bars
🤸 Beam
🤸 Floor

They’ll be:
🐬 Jumping like dolphins
🦀 Walking like crabs
⭐ Balancing like starfish
🐠 Swimming through the sea
🌊 Exploring waves, seaweed and ocean adventures!

Our themed circuits are designed to build confidence, coordination, balance and imagination whilst making gymnastics SUPER fun for our little ones 💙

Here’s what our Recreational Gymnasts will be working on over the coming weeks 🤸‍♀️💪

Each week will have a different theme, with sessions built around fun, engaging circuits designed to develop skills across Vault, Bars, Floor and Beam. This allows gymnasts to build confidence, improve technique and keep learning in an exciting and varied way 🙌

Alongside this, all gymnasts will be learning and practising routines ready for our biggest event of the year…

April has been a big month for our Women’s Artistic Squad 👏

After wrapping up a successful Grades competition season, the focus has now shifted… 🔄

We’re back to building.
🔹 Physical preparation
🔹 Strength & shaping
🔹 Skill progressions
🔹 Laying the foundations for what’s next

This is the phase where real progress happens 💪
No shortcuts — just consistent work, attention to detail, and long-term development.

Everything we’re doing now is setting us up for Levels season later this summer and into autumn 🍂

Excited to see these routines, skills, and gymnasts continue to grow 📈

🦖 Dinosaur Week Continues at WGC! 🦕

Our Pre-School Gymnastics sessions are in full swing and next week we’re diving straight back into our dinosaur theme… and the children are absolutely loving it!

From stomping like T-Rex 🦖 to balancing like a Brachiosaurus 🦕, every session is packed with fun, imagination, and key movement skills to help build strong, confident little gymnasts 💪

At Wantage Gymnastics Centre, our pre-school programme isn’t just about having fun (although there’s plenty of that!) — it’s about developing:
