Hose Delete / Re-spray / Re-build
In 2020 I built my 13th frame – an original Hammer for a customer who had a great paint scheme in mind. He wanted to replicate the 531 Raleigh Panasonic that he had, as his first proper bike back in the day. So, we built a brand-new frame to his design, with skinny 853 Team tubing, my signature Valknut rear end, and an up-to-date version of the original paint
Fast forward to 2026 and Del’s bike-fit has changed and so has the available equipment – we needed to raise the front end a little, and so I suggested we remove the hoses at the same time! If you’re going to fit a new fork, may as well make it and internally routed one! We made a window inside the headtube for the hose to run and filled the existing hole with silver. Then we got our pens out and got creative with the original design, along with some modern racing designs that caught our eye, and then we took it down to FatCreations for a fresh lick of paint.
For the rebuild we used a deeper set of DT Swiss rims which we had treated with Cerakoat, and then we rebuilt these with the original Chris King hubs, and some fresh Sapim CX-Ray spokes. We cleaned and serviced the original SRAM Red components, which have the perfect mix of chrome and organic surfaces to make them hint at the original groupset from back in the day – silver pulleys from Hope work really well. Likewise, we used some shiny finishing kit from Ritchey, and a modern up-to-date narrow carbon bar, naturally with some classic white Supacaz tape
Re-spray / Re-builds are a great way to bring your bike up to date, especially if the frame is a keeper. We offer this service on all brands, and all types of bike, so if you love your bike, but it needs a spruce up, get in touch and we can chat through the options. The paint can be as mild or as wild as you’d like, and we can upgrade as much or as little as you need/want!

B A S S O P A L T A 3 ( AE I G H T E D I T I O N )
Basso have been quietly making one of the best fast gravel bikes available for years - the 3rd version takes all the soul of the Palta 2 and turns it up to 11! Same brilliant geometry which they nailed long before the big brands, now with more clearance, internal storage, full mount compatibility, and full integration 🔥
For this particular build, Michael selected an upgrade to our AEIGHT SUPREME HWEÓLS - 1350g with proper brass ni***es, 50mm carbon rims, and DTSwiss 240 hubs. These can be set up tubeless, or in this case with TPU tubes and Schwalbe G-One R tyres 👊
The bar is Basso's own design and feels super comfy - we think it looks great too, with the Supacaz tape that we stock. The headset has been upgraded to solid bearings by Basso - a class move by Basso, which we used to offer as an upgrade (definitely worth getting us to upgrade your bike in it's next service). The saddle is hand-made by Berk and helps keep the weight down!
A full mount SRAM Force AXS XPLR Groupset is an obvious choice at the moment and works super nicely with the frame logos, and our custom hub graphics. The Wolftooth ring and waxed chain are great upgrades, and of course we picked the crank length following our in-house bikefit 📐
This bike is going to absolutely fly this summer - watch out for it on a dusty trail near you!

M A D R I D ⏩️ B A R C E L O N A
Madrid to Barcelona by Pedalma is a 700km self supported bike packing race. The course is all on road and will be Jesse’s first ultra race on the roadbike. With 7000m of elevation across the 700km route, and hot temperatures predicted we’ve opted for a fast and light setup 🔥
At AEIGHT, we made the template for the custom camo frame bag from Restrap - they then worked thier magic to create the perfectly fitted bag, to Jesse’s specifications. Their new top tube race bag, and the new lightweight hydration vest completes Jesse’s setup. If you're after custom or standard bags, give us a shout! 👊
We completely rebuilt the bike following a very muddy Stradé, fitted new headset bearings, bled the brakes, replaced the BB, fitted new tape to protect the paint, waxed the chain, fitted new Fizik bar tape in matching Sika red, serviced the wheels, and fitted a brand new set of Schwalbe Pro One TLE 30mm tyres

No need for a new bike, we can make your existing bike like new, with some fresh paint. Groupset swap or new wheels are a common upgrade at the same time, but if everything is working well, we can simply service and rebuild it too! 🔥
We absolutely love the simple matte black / gloss black / white logos that this customer went for. Class 👍

AE I G H T E S C A P E - P I S A T O R O M A
We've been on the road for the last ten days, providing van/bike support, for a private client. The brief was simple, travel from Pisa to Rome on the finest roads available, and enjoy as much local fare along the way as is possible. We ticked all boxes this week and it was a pleasure, seeing the riders each achieving individual goals, and discovering new experiences
The riders used handbuilt wheels, bespoke painted frames, and custom built bikes, all lovingly prepped in our workshop in Sweet Sussex
We were loaned the van which has been an absolute joy. We packed it full of spares, and food, and planned a route accross the beautiful regions of Italy
Day one took us from Pisa, through dense wooded valleys, to Monteverde. Day two introduced us to Tuscany, and the beautiful city of Siena. We naturally took in the white roads on the morning of day three, before blasting south accross the rolling hills of Lazio. And then the final run in to Roma was a hot downhill marathon, complete with a lap of the capital 🔥
The landscapes were incredible, the weather was perfect, and the riders (and support crew) had a fantastic time 🥂
Well done to all the riders - you all avoided breaking bikes... absolute souplessé! 😄 🤣
