Most people think getting stronger is about frequency - more days, more sessions, more
effort.
It’s not. It’s about progression.
Two sessions a week, properly coached, builds real strength. Five sessions a week on the
same settings, doing the same thing, builds a habit - not much else.
The difference is whether someone’s paying attention to what you’re ready for next. More
resistance. A harder variation. A little less support.
That’s the whole reason our groups are capped at three people per coach. It’s not really
about the number of sessions. It’s about someone noticing when you’re ready to be pushed
a bit further.
Drop us a message if you want to know what that could look like for you.

💪 Core strength isn’t just about crunches.

Isometric exercises - where you hold a position under tension - are a simple and effective way to build a stronger, more resilient core.

Think elbow planks, bear holds and banded core holds.

For those of us over 40, a strong core can help:

✅ Support and stabilise the spine
✅ Improve balance and control
✅ Make lifting, carrying and everyday movement easier
✅ Improve strength and stability during exercise
✅ Build resilience and reduce the risk of some injuries

And you don’t need to hold a plank for five minutes! Quality matters more than simply chasing longer times. Create tension, maintain good position and breathe normally.

Strong core. Strong body. Keep doing the things you love. 💪

We talk a lot about strength and mobility when you’re over 65 ……and we mean every word of it.

But if you asked our Over 65s what they’d miss most if they stopped coming, most of them would say the people.

That’s not an accident. Small groups, same faces every week, real conversations before and after, it’s built in, not bolted on.

If you’ve been putting off getting back into something because the thought of walking into a gym alone feels like a lot…..this might be the easier way in.

We hear it more than you’d think - new members telling us they wish they’d started sooner, but kept waiting for the “right” time.

Here’s the truth: the right time doesn’t really exist. There’s never a moment that’s less busy, less tiring, or more convenient than the one you’re in right now.

The perfect start isn’t a plan, a date, or a fresh week. It’s just starting.

Message FITNESS and let’s get your first session booked in.

New research published today — 147,000 people, tracked for 30 years.

The finding: just 90–120 minutes of strength training a week linked to a 13% lower risk of death from any cause. Cardiovascular disease by 19%. Neurological conditions by 27%.

Two sessions. That’s it.

If you’re over 40 and you’ve been thinking about building strength training into your life — with proper coaching and people your own age alongside you — now’s a good time to start.

Message us STRENGTH on WhatsApp: 07418 609728 and we’ll have a chat.

Water isn’t the most hydrating thing you can drink.

A group of researchers from St Andrews University built something called the Beverage Hydration Index - testing 13 drinks to measure how much fluid your body actually retains.

Water scored 1.0. The benchmark.

Skim milk? 1.58. Meaning your body held onto 58% more fluid compared to the same volume of water.

But here’s the part that matters for you: after 40, your thirst signal fades. By the time you feel thirsty, your body’s already behind. That’s not a scare story - it’s just biology. And it’s worth knowing.

Swipe through for what the research actually says, and what you can practically do with it.

Five things people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s can do right now to feel better this summer.

No overhaul required. No dramatic lifestyle change. Just five practical things that actually move the needle.

And if you want help putting this into practice, that’s exactly what we do. Small-group personal training in Putney, built for adults over 40. Maximum three members per coach.

Drop us a message and let’s have a chat.

“I hated gyms. And I thought I was too unfit to start.”

That’s what one of our members told us. She knew people who came to our programme. She’d heard how much they loved it. But the doubt kept her away.

She joined anyway.

A few sessions in, she messaged us: “I am enjoying the group sessions. Everyone, including other members, are very helpful. Muscles still aching after each session.”

That last part made us smile. Muscle soreness after your first few sessions is completely normal, it’s your body waking up and adapting. It fades, and quickly. What tends to stay is the energy, the strength, and the feeling that you made the right call.

She’s already seeing results. And she started from exactly the place she thought disqualified her.

There is no “too unfit to start” here. There’s just a first session.

If that sounds like something you need, message us and we’ll take it from there.
