Coming back to movement post-baby can be like coming back to life, only meeting your new old different body and mind.

Stretch, release, reconnect, strengthen, soften and rebuild your energy after having a baby.

Two Walthamstow classes a week with me now, both at Trinity Church on Orford Road:
☀️ Monday 11am-12pm
☀️ Friday 12-1pm

Babies are welcome awake or asleep, or join without them if that’s an option for you. Come from when you feel ready for a bit more than a stretch at home, often ~ 6 weeks for vaginal births and ~8-12weeks+ for abdominal ones.

Mats and all the props are provided, and kitchen facilitates are available if you need them.

Carers are welcome to accompany you for free to mind your baby while you join in. Low income tickets are available - just message me to ask about this, no questions asked.

I’m also available for 1:1 postnatal yoga or doula sessions. Drop me a message if you’d like to explore this route.

😘

A flavour of how postnatal yoga classes have been starting this week.

What’s your body craving at the moment?

Movement from when you feel ready for a bit more than an impromptu stretch, paired with plenty of rest and essential breath connection. I’m always happy to hold your baby and give you a moment to be in your body.

It’s half term this week so I’m on a skeleton schedule and mainly seeking shade or water this week.

Postnatal classes will be back in as usual next week:

Forest Gate:
Tuesdays at 10-11am in this beautiful movement space

Walthamstow:
Mondays 11-12
Fridays 12-1
Both at Trinity Church, Orford Road. Book on my site or drop in.

Drop me a question anytime and see you soon x

Embodied Birth is our two and half hour workshop designed to dive into your feelings about birthing, and ensure you feel heard and listened to by the incredible circle of your peers and us as your spacer holders.

We’ll learn and share together, and help you leave feeling clearer about your feelings, plans and more confident and even excited about your choices and aims as you step into birthing and motherhood.

The session is designed to help you get clear, and get into your body. It might be the start of your birth preparation or a beautiful complement to other things you’re doing.

We’ll cover:
- the role of hormones and the process of births as it unfolds
- biomechanics, movement and positions for physiological and medical labours
- vocalisation, breathing and other invaluable techniques to support your embodiment and labour
- c-section specific ways to bring embodiment into your preparation and birth

This is our last workshop until the autumn. Early Bird tickets are available until the end of this Saturday (16th May), so if you’d like to get 10% off head to or ’s sites before then.

We look forward to answering any questions you might have, and hope to see you there next month.

Workshop info:
Sat 13th June
2-4.30pm
Walthamstow, near Lloyd Park
£42.50 full price / £38.25 early bird

Suitable for anyone in their 2nd or 3rd trimesters.

I love that fact that so many people try yoga for the first time during pregnancy. There’s always someone who’s said to them, now you’re pregnant will you do pregnancy yoga? It’s so good for you.

And it is - we know that regular movement keeps your changing body healthy and happy, and that any activity that makes you feel good is a boost to mental health.

Yoga and pregnancy and birth are excellent pals partly because they both work with breath and gravity. Pregnancy yoga invites your body to feel open, more spacious and encourages your baby into an optimal position. Poses gently build essential strength, and flowing in and out of shapes less deeply than you might at other times helps to maintain mobility and flexibility.

We adapt the yoga poses to work for your body, and you might find ways of moving you can take home with you or into other yoga classes.

I also like to acknowledge it isn’t just the stretching that’s part of the appeal.

Its sacred space in the week, when no one needs anything from you and you are free to connect with your body and develop a relationship with its needs. The time and space to be present with your pregnancy and how you feel about the changes taking place week by week. To sit with what’s coming up, and know that it’s ok. To feel community and tune into your inner resources.

If you’re in your 2nd or 3rd trimester, you can try pregnancy yoga at 6-7pm on Wednesdays with .

5-week Baby Massage courses in small groups at my home near Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, E17.

Touch and baby massage are incredible ways to co-regulate you and your baby’s nervous systems, soothing and giving you both a gorgeous oxytocin boost. Massaging your baby builds confidence, and gives you precious time together for connection and fun.

It’s also hugely effective at helping babies feel more comfortable in their body - easing their transition into the world in the early months, supporting their developing digestive system and increasing muscle tone.

Over the weeks, we will start by gently exploring touch and different holds, building up to giving a full body massage. The course aims to give you the skills and confidence to do a little or a lot, and incorporate massaging your baby into your lives in your own way.

Ground and come home to your body through conscious breathing and some much needed stretches for parents, along with tea, home bakes and chats. There’s a lot worse places to get nap trapped, but usually the really good naps happen afterwards!

A new course starts in mid-June and is booking now: Tuesday is now full and Thursday afternoon almost full, and there are currently spaces in the earlier Thursday sessions.

If your baby will be 4+ weeks up to very active crawling, I’d love to welcome you into my home and the group next month.

Ask me any questions here, and book online when you’re ready.
