It’s late August, the evenings are getting cooler and darker, jackets and jumpers are coming back out of the wardrobe, and summer feels like it’s nearly behind us. As I reached for my jeans this morning (for the first time in weeks!) I was feeling quite reflective.

This time of year always brings mixed feelings. Part of me wants to hang on to the lively summer days (particularly while the kids are still young) and the long, light evenings. But there’s also something nice about slowing down a little, getting back into a routine, cosier evenings, a bit more reflection.

Dating and relationships have seasons too. Sometimes it’s all energy and light. New people, new conversations, new situations. Other times it’s quieter, more thoughtful. Working out what you 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 before rushing in or walking away.

So as we head into autumn, maybe it’s worth asking yourself:
🍂 What could I let go of that isn’t helping me anymore?
🍂 What do I want to carry forward?
🍂 What feels possible in this next season?

A change in season can be a good excuse to stop and check in with yourself. Where are you at…and where do you want to be heading?

Is it possible to love more than one person in your lifetime—or even at the same time?

If you’re navigating life after a breakup or loss, that question can feel confusing… even painful.

Maybe you’ve never stopped thinking about your first love.
Maybe you’re grieving the end of a relationship you thought would last forever.
Or maybe you’re wondering whether you’re even 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥 to feel something new when your heart has been so full…or so broken.

Think of the love you feel for your firstborn child. That fierce, overwhelming, heart-exploding love. You wonder how it could ever be possible to feel the same way again. You feel a bit guilty even. How could there be enough love in the world? But then another child is born, and your heart doesn’t divide… it expands.

Love isn’t a limited resource.
It doesn’t expire or run out.
And it doesn’t have to come from, or be directed at, just one place.

After loss, after disappointment, after the end of something big, it’s still possible to feel love again. Not just romantic love (though that may come too) but the love of friendship, of family, of deep connection, of choosing to show up for life with an open heart.

You haven’t used up your chances.
You’re not cheating on the past.
You’re expanding into the future.

Your heart knows what to do.

If the last time someone flirted with you, they called the house phone — and you prayed your dad wouldn’t answer… let’s chat!

These days it’s all about about emojis and voice notes, but good conversation never goes out of style.

As your dating & relationships coach for midlife and beyond, I am here to help you build connections and confidence.

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀?

If your last first date involved a trip to the Berni Inn where you ordered Black Forest Gateau and paid by cheque and on your way to the date you listened to a cassette tape in the car (which probably had wind-down windows and a choke...) We 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 to talk!

Dating in your 40s, 50s, 60s (and beyond!) is a whole new world — swipes, texts, red flags, and ghosting weren’t part of the vocabulary back then. But guess what? You don’t have to navigate it alone.

I’m Lindsey — a coach helping people in midlife and beyond go from overwhelmed to empowered on their dating journey.

Whether you’re newly single or just wondering how the whole thing works now… let’s untangle it together.

We can meet online or I offer Walk & Talk sessions in N/E & Central London.

Dating rarely comes with a clear roadmap or guarantees. It’s messy, unpredictable, and often uncomfortable. But it’s also full of possibility.

One of the most freeing things I encourage my clients to remember is that you don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes, the questions themselves are what matter most.

Questions like, 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵? 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴? 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨?

Showing up—imperfect, curious, open—is the bravest and most important step. If you have fears or questions about dating right now, know that you’re not alone. Sometimes, just naming what’s on your mind is the first move toward clarity and confidence.

And if you want to share or explore these feelings in a safe space, I’m here 🙂

I’ve noticed something we women do 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦: we apologise — for simply existing, for navigating a busy pavement, for taking up space.

“Sorry… excuse me… can I just… sorry...”

It’s as if we’re shrinking ourselves, making ourselves less, just to ease someone else’s path.

But you know what? 𝗠𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.
Have you noticed?
They stride forward. They take up space.
They’re not constantly apologising just for being there.

And back in the days before caller ID, I’d have female colleagues call me up and say, “oh, hello, it’s 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 me” and this would fill me with sadness.

Because 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗢𝗧 ‘𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆’ 𝘆𝗼𝘂 — 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂!

Every single one of us matters.
Every single one of us is worth taking up space.
So today, I want to challenge you: 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Own your space. Lift your chin. Let your presence be felt.
Because we all matter just as much as anyone else. ❤️
