Just serviced the worst webley mk3 i think ive ever seen, The recoil from it was ludicrous, so much so when i pulled the trigger the sintered sear and trigger blade actually both shattered in half at the same time , the trigger blade itself just disappeared never to be seen again, Luckily i had a proper steel sear to replace it with, those sintered trigger parts are awful things and dangerous in my opinion, can’t believe webley made such rubbish.

Nearly finished my Red Special project guitar I’ve been building in my spare time, it’s not to bad for a first attempt, the finish isn’t as good as I’d hoped, but hey ho.

Dad’s been busy again on a spartan stock, it’s certainly an unusual grain, I’m sure it will pop when it’s oiled up.

A little piece of history came in to be serviced, this is the very first 30mm cylinder action which would later become the Airstream mk1. I can’t believe the condition it’s in considering it’s approx 36 years old it’s still perfect, apart from the red cap but hey ho 😂

The reg unfortunately isn’t a vented reg and it can’t be modded to the newer vented type, all i can say is the o rings made years ago must have been far better as to be fair 90% of them were still perfect, and the reg was still functioning perfectly, the only leak it had was the quick fill. not too bad for 36 years of use😲

Luckily I managed to find the reg checker which to say the least was rusty, but it still worked and did the job considering that probably the last time it was used was when we made that action , I can’t believe how good this gun shoots probably better than many guns made today. Lovely to see it, it just makes me feel old, can’t believe where all the years have gone, it’s certainly aged better than me.

I will ask the customer to send some pictures of it when it’s back in the stock we made, as i can’t remember what that looked lik

Been restoring this early bonehill britannia, it was in an awful condition unfortunately i never took any before photos, apart from one.

i’ve managed to restore it without losing the engravings which is always a bonus, i refinished the stock and also made a new piston two position sear, i’ve also made a new leather piston head and breech washer, it don’t shoot to bad considering it’s 120 years old.
