⭐️🏁SKEGNESS TREBLE🏁⭐️
An exciting long weekend full of fun, laughs and, at times, total carnage. We’ve had some rough moments, the cars had damage on all four corners and we only finished 5 of 9 races. Weather has been changeable and challenging for Riley, he has also had his fair dose of bad luck. But still we push on, and so much has been learnt. We left on a high and with smiles after grabbing some points in the final race on Monday.
⭐️THURSDAY⭐️
-RACE 1️⃣🏁 No practice this weekend, so it was a steady start getting a feel for the car and track as parts had been replaced. Safely home in 14th.
-RACE 2️⃣🏁 It was all over before we got to Turn 1. Chaos on the start line and Riley got taken out by another driver, hitting the wall at speed and causing considerable damage. DNF.
-RACE 3️⃣🏁 Started well and was making good ground, sitting in a points finish… until some suspect unseen damage from Race 2 reared its head. A damaged rear wheel bearing broke up, causing the wheel to become insecure. DNF.
⭐️SUNDAY⭐️
-RACE 1️⃣🏁 Great start showing good, consistent pace. Unfortunately finished just outside the points in 11th.
-RACE 2️⃣🏁 Total chaos from the start, with only 7 of the 15 starters finishing. People crashing left, right and centre. Riley also ended up on the infield after taking avoiding action — he got into a bounce and his chain came off. DNF.
-RACE 3️⃣🏁 Riley was settling into the race nicely but hit a bump on entry to Turn 1, putting him into a giant bounce he couldn’t control. He went into the infield tyres, hurt both arms and was unable to finish the race. DNF.
⭐️MONDAY⭐️
-RACE 1️⃣🏁 Strong, confident start and a great drive. Unlucky to just miss out on points again, finishing 11th.
-RACE 2️⃣🏁 As the flag dropped the rain started to fall. The wetter it got, the further Riley slipped back. He has struggled in the rain due to lack of experience, but kept it on track and finished the race, gaining valuable experience. 15th.
-RACE 3️⃣🏁 Final race — raining and very wet. We tried a few new set-up changes to give Riley some more confidence. From the moment the flag dropped it was total chaos: a rollover, drifting, pile-ups, spinners… yellow flag after yellow flag, stoppage after stoppage. Riley survived all the drama and held it together to bring home some points in his best finishing position of the weekend. 8th.
Finishing three days of drama on a high. Well done Riley. 👍🏎️💨🏁
