Hey everybody! We're back, and we have our first mob match of 2026 tomorrow! It is the national virtual one so you can take part at any parkrun across the country, but we will have folks from the St Pat's Tigers at Roundshaw Downs if you're keen to join some teammates. Wherever you decide to take part, make sure to have added the St Patrick's Tigers as one of your clubs on your parkrun profile, and bring your barcode with you on the day

As always, feel free to drop us a message if you have any questions or would like any support🐯

We are super excited to announce the next parkrun mob match will be at Lloyd parkrun *this Saturday*! We will be meeting at around 8.45am for a brief get together and photo opportunity, ready for a prompt 9am start to the run

There is car parking at the park and on local roads, as well as the tram stopping right by the start and the 64 and 433 buses that stop about a 5 minute walk away.

This is the last mob match that counts towards the annual churchrunner awards, so let's show them what we've got and bring home a win for the St Patrick's Tigers💪

See you all there - don't forget your barcode!

Come and join us for another mob match on Saturday 3rd May at Morden parkrun! We are feeling super hyped and hope you are too! Please note: the mob match is at Morden Park; don't confuse it with Morden Hall Park (the National Trust place) - they are not the same!

Also, a quick update on results from the national virtual mob match: five of the team took part, across Roundshaw, Dulwich and Hove (unfortunately we didn't make it to Bath Skyline - the mud there can be an absolute deathtrap and the weather was not on our side😔). We managed to make it to the middle of the leaderboard - not bad, but still work to do at the final 3 matches of the year. Let's show them what we've got and bring it on at the Morden mob match!

Less than 2 weeks to go until our first mob match of 2025 (and you can take part at any parkrun)!

Yes you heard us right: Saturday next week (22nd February) is our annual national virtual mob match meaning you can join in the fun from whichever parkrun you like! If you're in the South London area, a number from the St Patrick's Tigers will be at Roundshaw Downs parkrun, while a few of us will also be at Bath Skyline parkrun if you happen to be in the West Country or are keen to travel a bit further afield, but of course those aren't the only options! With over 1300 parkruns across the country, you certainly have a lot of choice!

If you would like to take part, please could you let us know (just drop us a dm) and make sure to add 'St Patrick's Tigers' as your club on your parkrun profile. Additionally, if you take any photos at the match that you would like to go on the team social media pages and/or on the churchrunner website, feel free to send them through to us but please make sure you get permission from everyone in the photo(s) first!

Apologies our previous post (which has now been deleted) incorrectly said that the match would be on 15th February. We can confirm that it will not be on this date but on 22nd February. Sorry for any confusion😭

As promised, here are the results from the recent Lloyd mob match and from the overall Churchrunner competition 2024.

At Lloyd, we managed to achieve second place! And, we achieved 2nd place overall in the competition!

Here is the link to the run report if you want to check it out: http://www.churchrunner.co.uk/2024/10/lloyd-mob-match-october-2024/

Thank you so much to everyone who helped us do so well. You have all come so far since joining the team. We really appreciate how much effort you put in and we hope you will be back to join us again next year!🐯

Thanks to all of you who joined us at the mob match last Saturday. Here is a quick run down of how it went…

Like last year, the final match of the competition was at Lloyd parkrun, known for its difficulty, but luckily for us the conditions were good enough that trainers were sufficient and the ‘slippery mud’ sign was quickly taken down.

The first lap was tense, even within the team, with Kirsty, Scott and Darren all exchanging positions with one another, and in the second lap it was a very close finish for Scott and Darren, with Darren overtaking with about 10 yards left 😱

Well done to the Lui family who have become regular parkrunners over the past year – and each managed to achieve a new pb at the mob match. Special congratulations to Tao in particular who succeeded in breaking 30 minutes for the first time👏

We don’t know the official results re points/positions yet, but we had 7 runners, which means at least 7 points, and we have high hopes that some of the team made the podiums so fingers crossed we will have maintained our place in the leaderboard🤞

This was the last mob match of 2024 but don’t worry there are still parkruns happening every Saturday across the UK and beyond! Feel free to join us at one if you are around – usually there are members of the team at Roundshaw Downs

We will let you know more about the next match in due course – usually the first match of the year is a ‘national’ mob match, where you can take part at whichever parkrun you like. We find that it is most fun if the team all goes to the same one so if you have any suggestions for where we should pick then please do drop us a message

This is it. The big one. The one we've all been waiting for. The final mob match of 2024 (and we're currently in 2nd place).

Not only is it the last match this year, but it's also at Lloyd parkrun, known for its notoriously difficult hill on both laps of the course (although if you find that hill hard you should try powerwalking up Bathwick Hill in the pouring rain without a waterproof while running late for your 9am condensed matter physics lecture - definitely not something that happened to me last Tuesday👀)

Lloyd parkrun is mostly a cross country course and can get very muddy so please bear that in mind when deciding what footwear to use. Also, please note that any children under the age of 11 must run within arm's reach of their accompanying adult.

parkrun have a barcode system where you have to register in advance (preferably setting your running club to St Patrick's Tigers) and bring your barcode with you on the day either on your phone or printed out. Don't worry it's free!

If you can make it tomorrow we would love to see you there. It would be great if you could let us know if you are planning to come so we can look out for you - leave a comment or drop us a dm - but as always it's perfectly fine to just show up.

Where: Lloyd parkrun
Date: Saturday 12th October
Time: 8.45am for a 9am start

Any questions feel free to ask in the comments or drop us a dm and we will get back to you shortly.

Disclaimer: churchrunner mob matches are not organised by parkrun but take place at parkrun events
