This year Bradford Tomiki Aikido Club had an open Randori event and we all had a blast where all practitioners of Tomiki Aikido were welcome.

As the school bags come out and children settle into a new routine, it's the perfect time to help them discover a new activity that builds confidence, keeps them active, and teaches skills they'll benefit from for years to come.

🥋 **Our Kids' Tomiki Aikido sessions are welcoming new members this September!**

Tomiki Aikido is about much more than learning martial arts. Through fun, structured training, children develop:

Wakefield Tomiki Aikido Club took itself on the road down to Wi******er for the BAA Spring School.

It was a weekend full of training in the heat with a wonderful set of aikidoka.

We look forward to going down again next year to make all our aikido worlds that much bigger.

Community is at the heart of everything we do.

Moments like this remind us that Aikido is about so much more than technique — it’s about the people who show up, support each other, and grow together on and off the mat. From shared laughs to hard training sessions, every connection we build makes our club stronger.

Grateful to be part of a group that values respect, encouragement, and belonging. This is what community looks like.

Tonight’s session focused on tanto avoidance and free play, sharpening our awareness, timing, and movement under pressure.

Students worked on evading the tanto (training knife) with clean footwork, strong posture, and calm decision-making. As the drills progressed into free play, everyone had the chance to apply their skills dynamically, testing reactions and control in a live setting.

Great focus from the group tonight – it’s always encouraging to see members pushing themselves, supporting each other, and developing their Aikido together.

Whether you’re refining technique or stepping onto the mat for the first time, every session is a chance to learn and improve.
