Your habits will make or break you.
We are often reminded that we are free. Are you embracing that freedom mindfully by adopting habits that serve you rather than themselves?
For example, does social media serve your needs, or have you become a slave to the algorithm?
Are you listening to and giving yourself what you need?
Sometimes life knocks us around, and we end up falling into a routine rather than creating one. The consequences can be huge.
I recently started going for evening walks with my partner. Excellent for my body AND for our relationship. I adopted a cold bath habit every morning. It is a natural anti-inflammatory that is great for the mind, body, and spirit.
At the same time, I stopped doing my early morning walks and outdoor Tai Chi training. The evening walks meant there wasn't space for the gym, where I usually enjoy intense training followed by time in the whirlpool bath and steam room.
Gained - quality time with my partner, and cold water therapy.
Lost - a way to throw off excess energy, stress, and emotional baggage. More than that, I lost quality time with myself.
Consequence - I started burning out.
Lesson - find balance.
If you need to be around people, if that's what serves you, make time for it. If you need to be alone, don't ignore it; create that time to be by yourself.
