Great start to our Eastmoor Walk tonight
People came out in force supporting our local community🙂

It was great to make our way down the Southern Washlands and explore the beautiful sights and sounds of the area.

We were also treated to doggy heaven with a growing number of doggies 😍

If you are interested in joining us get yourself down and enjoy the walks, meet new people or just enjoy chatting with someone.

Great night for tonight's 🌞 walk
It's a change of weather compared with this morning.

We made out way along the canal and what a night. Really enjoyed our conversations I especially liked being walked (yes that's right a 🐕 walked me 😄)

It's great to meet new people and we have lots of space for more to join us. If you haven't seen us before 🙋 we are a welcoming friendly group who enjoy walking and talking.

So why not join us.

We meet every week at St George's Community Centre. It's not about going on a 3hr trek into the mountains it's just about getting out and about around our area and enjoying the company along the way.

Whether you are always walking your dog or prefer to use your car or bus. We are here to support you along the way.

From West Yorkshire Police - Wakefield Central

“We’re working to make running safer for everyone across the district – but we need your help to get it right.

Nationally, 92% of women say they have safety concerns when running, and 60% say they’ve experienced harassment. We want to understand what it’s like here in Wakefield.

If you run, jog or walk locally, please take 2 minutes to complete our short survey and share your experiences. It will help us identify key areas, shape the campaign and target action where it’s needed most.”

This week is and the 2026 theme is .

We know taking that first step can sometimes feel like the hardest part. Walking through the door for the first time, meeting new people, worrying if you’ll keep up or fit in. We get it.

But we can promise you this:
You’ll be welcomed, seen and heard 🫶

At Walking & Running Fit Wakefield everyone is welcome and nobody is ever left behind or alone.

Whether you fancy a gentle walk, a steady run, or just want to get out of the house and be around good people, come and join us tonight.
