for info on how to join the team, about scrims we are doing, or any guested training, We're based at Light Waves Leisure Centre and have members from all over the Wakefield District and beyond, including Castleford, Pontefract, Horbury, Ossett and Dewsbury. We are an 18+ women's flat track roller derby team. We welcome transgender, non-binary, gender fluid and cisgender folks and align ourselves to the WFTDA gender policy which can be accessed here: https://resources.wftda.org/womens-flat-track-derby-association-statement-about-gender/. There are referee and non-skating official roles open to everyone. Roller derby is a fast-paced, full contact sport played on a flat oval track and we provide a safe athletic space for local people. If you're interested in joining us, we typically hold two recruitment events each year. You don't need to be able to skate because we'll teach you from scratch and we have equipment you can borrow.
