A new commitment to myself — and to my practice.

Each day I’m sharing one strengthening yoga pose or functional movement to help build muscle, bone density and confident end‑range strength. I’m holding each pose for 5 slow breaths, repeating 5 sets, and finishing with a long, spacious counterpose to balance the work.

If you’d like to build strength alongside me, you’re so welcome to join in — one pose, five slow breaths, five steady rounds. A small daily ritual that grows powerful over time.

Today’s focus: Reverse Plank (Purvottanasana) — a powerful back‑body strengthener and heart opener.

This pose builds powerful posterior‑chain strength - glutes, hamstrings, inner thighs, triceps, spinal support, while opening the chest and shoulders. Think of it as a bridge between strength and control.

Some alignment and technique tips to think about...

* Engage the glutes — they drive the lift and protect the lower back

* Hug the inner thighs — prevents the legs from rolling out and stabilises the pelvis

* Press through the feet — especially the big toes, to activate the whole back line

* Lift the chest without flaring the ribs — think “sternum rising”

* Draw the shoulder blades down the back — creates space in the neck

* Keep the head neutral — no need to drop it back unless the neck is strong and happy

* Push the floor away — triceps and upper back switch on to support the lift

🌿 Yoga & Camping Retreat — North Cornwall, April/May 2027

After the huge success of our Yoga & Camping Retreat at Tremeer Farm this year, I’m thrilled to announce that in April/May 2027 we’ll be returning to one of my favourite places in North Cornwall — Macdonald’s Farm, Porthcothan — for another unforgettable long weekend of yoga, nature, and community.

This retreat is the perfect blend of glamping comfort and outdoor adventure, set in one of the most beautiful corners of Cornwall. Expect a weekend that feels both energising and deeply restorative.

✨ What’s included:
• A blend of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga across the weekend — offering grounding, flow and deep rest
• Hiking along the breathtaking South West Coast Path
• Private spa facilities — sauna, cold plunge, hot tub
• Campfire evenings under the stars with fellow guests
• Delicious, healthy, nourishing meals
• Time to breathe, reset, and reconnect with yourself

Macdonald’s Farm is such a special place — peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by wild coastal beauty. It’s the perfect setting for a retreat that brings together movement, nature, community, and deep rest.

Early booking is recommended (only a deposit is required), as this retreat always fills quickly. It is ideal for singles, couples, besties, sisters or mums and daughters. I can’t wait to welcome you to Porthcothan next spring. 🌿✨

🌿 Moment from Retreat Life

Stepping Forward as a Retreat Leader...

Hosting my fifth yoga retreat last weekend has left me reflecting deeply on this part of my yoga business — what it gives me, what it teaches me, and how I want to move forward. I now have three retreats on the calendar for 2027, and next year I’m stepping up my game by hosting my first retreat abroad, in the mountains of Portugal. It feels like the right evolution, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Retreats are, without question, one of the most rewarding things I do. Any retreat leader will tell you the same. Holding space for a group of people and curating a holistic wellness experience allows me to be creative, intuitive, and fully immersed in the breadth of yoga: movement, breathwork, meditation, wisdom talks, healthy living, nature, community, connection. It’s the kind of teaching that uses every ounce of my knowledge and every part of my heart.

But retreats also come with hard work, challenges, and the occasional unexpected incident. Every single retreat has taught me something new — a fresh insight, a better way of handling situations, a deeper confidence in who I am as a retreat leader, and (let’s be honest) a f**k‑load of practical experience in planning, preparing, and packing.

I’m incredibly lucky to have an amazing team around me. My best friend and my partner are the backbone of these events, and without them, these retreats simply wouldn’t be what they are. Their support, humour, and hard graft make everything possible.

And then there are the guests — the heart of the retreat. One of the most beautiful things to witness is how a group of people who have never met before can end up living in harmony for several days and nights. Shared meals, shared practices, shared moments… it creates a kind of temporary community that feels both gentle and powerful.

If you’d like to see what’s coming up in 2027, you can visit www.lucyannretreats.com and register your interest.

Two retreats in May 2027, including my Portugal Yoga Retreat in the Algarve mountains, are now open for booking.

🌿 Meditation and Breathwork: A 45‑minute end‑of‑the‑week reset.

Theme this week: “A Season to Reflect”

Take 45 minutes at the end of your week to slow down, breathe, and gently settle your nervous system. This week’s session is themed around reflection — looking back at the summer just passed, noticing what it brought, and giving yourself space to process life’s ups and downs with kindness.

We begin with calming breathwork to help the body arrive, followed by a guided meditation designed to bring clarity, steadiness and ease.

I’m still carrying that post‑retreat glow — the slow, peaceful mornings, the variety of yoga sessions I was able to teach, the campfire conversations, the funny moments, and the way everyone settled so naturally into the rhythm of being outdoors. There was such a relaxed, curious energy from the group right from the start. You could feel people exhale the moment they arrived.

The hikes were simply spectacular. We walked coastal paths, swam in the sea, lazed on the beach, and one of the guests even painted the view while we were there — a perfect snapshot of how creative and present the weekend felt.

And the food… they absolutely loved it. Every meal seemed to bring people together, chatting, laughing, and sharing stories over plates of good, nourishing food.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Yoga & Camping Retreat at Tremeer Farm. It was a joy to spend the weekend with you — moving, breathing, exploring, resting, and just enjoying being outside together.

**A new 30‑minute class is now live on my YouTube channel.**

A full class focusing on forward folds is now live on my YouTube channel — designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and release tension through the back line of the body (hamstrings, calves, glutes, lower back).

It’s a steady 30‑minute practice that invites you to soften, listen, and move with a little more ease.

Sharing longer classes online is still a new adventure for me, but I’m enjoying the learning curve and the chance to offer something you can return to whenever you need a mindful pause.

We can’t always make it to class, and that’s okay. So, if you’d like to practise with me from home, you can watch it here:

If you feel called to like, comment, or subscribe, it truly helps me grow this new branch of my work. Thank you for being here.
